Can't wait for them. Classic festival band who you know will please almost any festival audience and the new material is certainly a departure from previous albums so will be interesting to hear some of it live.

Although I just wish they resurrected Teenage Angst (the original version, not the piano version).

Easily in my top 10 bands of all time, however for me they are a teenage band. What I mean by that is I had the first 4 albums (up to Sleeping with Ghosts which is actually my favourite) and listened to them to death when I was about 15/16...and then I saw them in 04 and loved it. I've been off the Placebo trail since then though really.

I mean Meds is quite good, some really good tracks and a solid effort, but always lacked something for me that the other albums had. It remains to be seen about the new album but hopefully I'll enjoy it. The only bug bearer for me is that the set may contain a lot of the new stuff (Meds/bfts) and the set is never going to live up to the 2004 one for me (there's not one song of theirs I don't adore from the first 4 albums). However, I'll still be there.

I think a lot of people aren't that bothered about Placebo because they play every year! However, due to various reasons (IE Not going/clashes) I haven't seen them since 04.

i've Placebo a fair few times, will definitely see em again, they put on a good show,

though recently my musical tastes have developed and as with most of the line up, they just don't have me jumping with excitement anymore

I would have liked to see them however it looks like they will clash with Bouncing Souls and nothing Placebo do can play compares to True Believers, Hopeless Romantic, Born to Lose and East Coast f**k You for me personally so I will be in the lock up stage with quite a few others and I think Bouncing Souls will have one of the biggest lock up crowds of the weekend.

can't wait for Placebo, easily one of the top 3 bands i want to see that weekend.

personally, from what i've heard so far, i'm not 'woo' about the new stuff..it seems very bland and lyrically poor compared to some of the genious songs they've written before, but meh, i still love them and will still be there to see them as i've always wanted to catch them live

    • I am very possibly wrong about this but I do think that the pitch you get allocated appears to be related to your time of arrival, (i.e. you get the next one available) rather than the price you paid for a small, medium or large pitch.  They all appear to be the same size to me.

    • I take my lad to the local non-league club - Royston Town - not he's 13, he goes there with his mates and he plays in their youth team.  Not many people there - lucky if they hit 800, but lovely supporting the town team.  I've took him to some league clubs too - Cambridge and Stevenage are great to visit and not crazy prices - his first one was Cambridge v Sunderland (I'm a mackem) when they were in league 1, so a great experience for him.  The England matches aren't too bad value either at Wembley - it's just the parking that stings you. Problem is, he's a City fan, so at some point have to bite the bullet and get him up to the Ethiad. Have done the tour, but he'd love a proper game....my wallet, less so!
    • Said it before, but if Annie Lennox is available next year, then it would be an absolute crime to instead book anyone else. She's rare and legendary enough that you drop all other plans.
