skywalker
2 American and 2 English. May have a small geographical issue with U2
eFestivals
I was in Dublin last week, got talking to a guy who was working with U2 recently. He says that the new single 'Get on your Boots' from their upcoming album is actually about pulling on your wellington boots. They had to take the word wellington out of the original title due to copyright issues. So in fact the new single is about U2 looking forward to playing Glastonbury this year and 'Getting on their Wellies' To be sure, to be sure, thank my lucky charms.... yeah, you're right of course. Glazieyes
I think they're highly unlikely. You'll think the same tomorrow.

darrenbha
Could be a good call on isle of wight. Makes sense with the midnight announcement due
Wooderson
Or is he referring to the Kaiser Chiefs? I hope not!
eFestivals
Is this because they are going to be announced for Isle of Wight, rather than becasue they are announcing the glasto line up? I keep repeating: I HAVE NO NEWS OF A GLASTO ANNOUNCEMENT.

thomasowen
Arctic Monkeys are strong rumour for Reading and Leeds, and Knowing that the monkeys have a strong personal history with Leeds festival and the fact they played Glasto two years ago, it's surely very unlikely for them to play again. Im sure Franz ferdinand are the fourth act
alframsey
I think this is lining up to be one of the strogest Glastobury line ups for some time! Very very excited!!!!!!!!!
eFestivals
Im sure Franz ferdinand are the fourth act except FF have been lined up for months. I read Eavis' words as saying that he's yet to firm up the co-headliner for the Saturday (which has to be the british act, cos we all know Bruce is the other). brettredmayne
Coldplay are the only act I can think of currently selling tickets for the summer

eFestivals
Coldplay are the only act I can think of currently selling tickets for the summer I don't think that Eavis' comments about selling tickets necessarily applied to tickets that are on sale right now. Although you've of course forgotten Blur. Whoever the "american" headliners are (NY is Canadian you fool ... tho he lives in Woodside, CA), they're very unlikely to come to the UK and not play any dates here other than Glasto. So they will have dates to announce, and they'll want them announced before they're announced for Glasto.

Red Day
Madness have also confirmed Madstock in July. Maybe not the Brit headliner he was talking about but looks a fair bet now. Saw them in Lost Vaugeness a couple of years back..Brilliant

Saw them in Lost Vaugeness a couple of years back..Brilliant I can't remember where I heard it now, but heard months ago that Madness would be doing Glasto this year, and with a far more major slot than they had last time around (so very probably a decent Pyramid slot). But what I heard might well have been before Madstock was decided on, and it might be the case that they choose to restrict their other appearances, to ensure the financial success of Madstock. Red Day
Suppose that might depend on how well ticket sales go on release. Wouldn't be surprised if they play somewhere at T in the Park, which is the week before Madstock ?
Mardy
I've always thought that Madness would be ideal fr a Sunday late afternoon/evening slot on the pyramid. I could see it going down a storm with the locals in on a one day ticket.
