According to their myspace (can;t provide link, at work) they will release a new album at the begining of next year. Do you reckon they would appear? If so what stage/slot etc?

Couple of things:

1. They were 3rd because Audioslave dropped out; they swapped from 4th below The Streets on Saturday to 3rd below Kaisers on Friday.

2. A slot of that magnitude was very unexpected, and generated a decent amount of chagrin.

3. Though they are indeed big, are they any more so than Biffy Clyro or The Cribs who had headline slots in the JP this year? I would argue otherwise.

I've given up all hope of Eavis booking them for Glasto. To my sadness I don't think it'll ever happen. Don't forget Karen O has said she'll ditch the band after the 3 albums. Time is running out.

I do love YYYs, I just don't think they're any larger than Biffy, Hot Chip or The Cribs. If they were up against Radiohead that may drain a core support base too, justifying the JP headline slot further.

The new album, hmmm, it's good, but not as good as they're capabilities. The punk energy has gone, and has been replaced with a disco/electro sound. Like we need more guitar based bands turning electro. Radiohead are responsible!

See the YYYs live towards thge end of next month. Will be interesting to see how they translate this sound.

Brilliant live band. They are playing every single festival in the US but I don't care.

Well they're playing T in the Park and look stick ons for Reading/Leeds, so they're around. The new album is a bit 'disco' thou, and apparently they're going to play a fair bit of it, not my cup of t realy. But yeah, a superb live band. Great cover of the Ramones song.
