TRNSMT 2026

A good friend of mine was at the festival yesterday, she said there was barely anyone there. Luvcat and South Arcade had tiny crowds apparently, she sent me photos from The K's and Nile Rodgers and there was so much empty space even in the front pits. Even for the likes of Wolf Alice and Ashcroft it looked extremely sparse. I know there's the World Cup factor in there but I think this might be the end of TRNSMT unfortunately unless they pull their fingers out next year. Real shame because going last year was my favourite festival experience.

Wolf Alice doesn't surprise me, one band I just really don't get any hype around. They have a few alright songs but majorly overrated on here. That being said the lineup edition for this year apart from Lewis day being OK is tragic. Finsbury was always too big for them, Belfast hasn't sold and very clearly Newcastle either even at £57. To be honest how they got booked subbing Other at Glastonbury last year was a shock, 3rd down okay but sub nah.

Could get £6 tickets for the whole weekend too.  Wouldn’t be a surprise if that’s the end of the festival and they go back to day events or something similar

They just need to book a bigger lineup. 2024 was the one of the most successful they've had. It didn't go downhill because of anything other than poor booking.

They'll at the very least have another go back at the usual time of year. If they have another bad one, they might reconsider it. But I don't see it happening before that.

I thought at end of last year Wolf Alice sold out the new Manchester arena AND 2 nights at the O2? They played several other arenas on that tour too? I thought they were now really pretty big.

Could see them axing it next year and just having a few summer sessions gigs at the green instead

Definitely think that's a possibility but reckon they'll have a final go at the July dates before they resort to that.

Wolf Alice was a weird pick for a sub despite their size I thought.

Nile Rodgers was a weird pick to play too. He did it before but Paolo Nutini was always gonna sell that day out

And indeed are doing some fairly big dates this year, not least Finsbury Park (although I don't think that's sold out). But maybe they're in a weird place of being kind of big but not quite that big.

Big enough to sub for sure, but I just wasn't sure about THIS festival. 2024 did insane business because it catered for the "lads".

Well certainly they'd be a big enough sub for a bigger name. Ashcroft just felt like a leftover booking as they couldn't get somebody bigger.

The point maybe is that Wolf Alice aren't that big outwith England.  Ashcroft looked very "will this do?" / "the lads" ((c) @DomDom1984 lol) will be satisfied" but if you've seen the Stones and Oasis over the last 6 years you've already heard his very limited set.  Does anyone have even a broad idea of attendance numbers for each day?

Went yesterday just for the day enjoyed it for what it was, it did feel pretty dead, no queues at all for bars/loos which is a positive for people attending.

Thought CMAT was excellent, not someone I'd usually listen to.

We went Friday. Was pretty dead tbf. Actualyl really enjoyed ourselves and met some cracking people, but most of the crowd seemed to be waiting for the football to come on and there were only a few hundred there for Beta Band which was a shame.
