Looking like I will also be hoping for SOAD at DL27 now the mad prices for their Tottenham shows have come to light

FWIW, I think it'll be MCR, Iron Maiden and a smaller/cheaper/up and coming headliner in 2027. If Maiden do play next year in England which would be a shock if not given their 20 years history, I think it will be far away from Download as to not make a 2027 appearance be an overload. Them playing 3rd years over on a tour isn't unheard of, they have done 2 years at least on every tour for 20 years and it was thought they were either a 26 or 27 on here.

Part of me has bizarrely wondered that, if in the UK and not doing Download, Iron Maiden could be a rogue BST shout. Dickinson likes to moan about the fact they can't play plenty of places for whatever reason, but honestly, the stage setup is the easiest it's been for a while, and I think they'd hook 65,000 down with a decent bill after selling out London Stadium.

MCR for example sold out Wembley twice quicker than SOAD would have, the numbers even at presale were no heavier in the queue than SOAD’S were and that's why I don't think it'll stop them from doing 2027. If SOAD had have done Wembley you'd get a ticket.

Thw organisers mentioned aboit taking a risk in 27 and 28 in those interviews so they aren't going to book MCR, Maiden and SOAD in 27, it would be one of the strongest trios they've had.

I wouldn't say SOAD for Download 27 is ruled out but it looks way less obvious with a second show that I didnt think they would do, especially not if they plan to do Download. I think the difference with LP was they have a big history with the festival and likely want to return, whereas I think for SOAD it is all about the money

Also, if the Foos information is all true, they've chosen to do stadiums and take the lower fee at Glastonbury while still bypassing Download.

They'll be turning up to empty field then since 2026 is a fallow year for Glastonbury. Definitely the year for Download to try for them when they don't have Glastonbury as an option

Foos are always going to choose R&L or Glasto first which is why DL has never bagged them.

SOAD easy could have done Wembley Stadium. 30,000 people turned out to try and get presale tickets and they’ve added an extra date. They always were the biggest ‘nu metal’ band and this just further solidifies that fact.

The live ticket market is so crazy now that DL is really going to struggle to get the biggest bands locked in when they can just play stadiums and make a killing. Any massive returning band is going to plump for their own shows now rather than doing DL. DL will only possibly get acts like SOAD and MCR on the second or third time around, I think.

This is true or bands like Guns N’ Roses that are still a big band but can’t do stadiums without giving away tickets. Could also lean towards some of the bands they’ve never gotten though like NIN, Nickelback and Pearl Jam, bands that can play arenas but not stadiums so the money would be worth it.

Unless they’re willing to let them play stadiums at the same time but this could damage sales on both the festival and/or gigs so not sure it’s worth the risk.

Think Download could lift their restrictions on headliner shows elsewhere in the country during that window if they knew it wasn't going to adversely affect sales. If it was a one-off Foo Fighters show in London or Cardiff or Glasgow or whatever, you'd likely still be fine.

But if it's a six-date tour with Manchester and Birmingham dates on the docket, it's going to cannibalise those sales.

The point was if they end up at their own thing next year and Glastonbury in 2027 then Download will have missed them twice again.

With the history and with how Download is trying to change, to not bag them compared to someone paying 250k for them is pretty bad.

30k turning out for a free presale to sign upto, nothing meeded to be purchased, you enter your email. It was basically a general sale 4 days earlier with a simple email sign up and every SOAD fan that wanted to go would have done it. You didn't have to pre-order an album or anything, if you did then 100% you'd have a point but it was essentially a mailing list. I get you like them and they've always been bigger than LP who you don't like.....they haven't by the way, that's very clear album sales and yours alone, but that's a very odd take. If anything, I'd have expected way more than 30k+ to be on.

If SOAD don't do Download next year which I have doubts that will also be clear. 120k tickets vs 90k plus tickets to sell for a festival day.

Download don't sell out is the big problem, they are struggling to currently sell out at 75k.

What's the average split on weekend/day tickets? Know they fell short of weekend hopes at Leeds this year - got about 19,000 or so in the end.

I don't know for sure. Ive heard both 5k and 25k bit can't remember the correct one, might be wrong on both lol.

I know in 23 they kept selling and selling Metallica day tickets over where they should have because the demand was there, hence no one could move in the arena all day and the heat plus dust was tragic.

Do you have any evidence for your claims of 1) Download not selling out in 2024 and 2) Download overselling Metallica’s days in 2023? To me it feels like you’re frequently spouting this same nonsense with nothing to back it up.

Well yeah. Download didnt sell out in 2024 lol, the fact you could buy weekend tickets right before and day tickets to all days is a fairly clear indication. You could also buy weekend tickets right up to the event and day tickets this year, even for Green Day right before. Am I making up that 2025 wasn't sold out now?

Secondly, there's a report on these boards  about it, did you not see how over saturated Download fest 2023 was in general and people that have been since, especially this year saying how much nicer the lower capacity was within the area used?, it's not just spouted made up crap as you put it.

So yes there is claims to back it up all over the shop. Maybe instead of calling people out, go and and find it? You to be clear, if you can buy tickets for an event, it's not sold out. Download 2023 did sell out but day tickets were clearly crazy for that day.

They never announced 2025 had sold out so not even going to address that.

Basically, your long winded answer boils down to “no, I have nothing to back it up, I just feel like it’s true” so moving forward, we can all acknowledge you’re just chatting sh*t, as per usual 😂 sold out festivals are busy, guy.

Anyway…. Ghost, LP and who for 2026?

as stated, it is 100% not maiden and maiden will be back in europe and possibly the UK in 2026 doing their own thing. i dont know who it is, but my mate works for maiden and has made it clear they are 100000000% not at download
