I mean in that case you can't really debate it, all tastes etc and different perspectives aside it's a weak days lineup and most likely because they know Guns will do the pulling. I'd say Friday is only a little better mind. The main stage in general is dross compared to 2025, but again while I think that's subjective taste, I also think many on here preferred it too.

i think you have to have mass general appeal with your headliners and they have done that pretty well this year. the undercard you get the rising gems, cult followings and variety. i know people dont like it when download play it safe with headliners, but they sell the tickets and you have to hope the undercard impress the extra people that brings for future festivals.

Yeah or doesn't bother me then playing safe personally, I don't think the subs really match the headliners on the whole though. Its definitely not Download 2.0 though haha, that lasted a year.

I think the best thing Download for me has done is get the variety of the smaller older following bands too, they've done that better than most of the festivals in europe. I can't disagree with you on covering the headliner basis either regardless of whether it's for me or not. But that's purely again subjective, it doesn't have to be for me. I just don't attend and aren't attending the whole weekend, they don't need me to either lol and that's all fine.

I think they've done well with the undercard this year

I'm not really interested in the headliners other than Bizkit but there's more than enough to keep me occupied across the three days

I think they've done well with the lower down card moreso myself. I'll likely be there Sunday as I've got quite a bit I'd catch. I wouldn't personally go longer unless there was more interested in the headliners as given they don't clash with second even, that's where the money is. Bizkit I'll see elsewhere anyway.

I love that people are arguing over reasons for the festival about to sell out because they think the lineup is objectively sh*t, instead of just acknowledging that people like the lineup and want to go.

"Mainstage is dross this year"
I guess that's why it's about to sell out.

Where are you getting it from that there is an objectively sh*t view?, the comment you are most likely referring to absolutely VERY VERY CLEARLY states subjectively with the acknowledgement that's EXACTLY what it is. There is no argument over reasons the festival is about to sell out, even someone giving an opinion on the lineup is not an argument over it about to sell out.

AGAIN!, just because something is about it sell out, doesn't mean it is for every man and his wife, and again in case you missed it, the word subjectively was used. There was never any use of the word objectively and given the sales it's attracted it would be silly to use them. It's also silly to make up a scenario and situation in your head based on it that isn't actually there. Also, there is not an angle what so ever where people who like it cannot like the lineup and want to go?, nothing has been said that they can't. No I wouldn't pay the cost of the weekend for it, I already have weekend festivals sorted for myself but I've not anywhere said people shouldn't be or why are people. One person's view on it being costs effective if there was one is in no way pushing it onto other people

Many people on here did prefer the main stage overall to 2025, it's not a lie. But every person of the 75/80k attending do not use efestivals.

GnR day tix nearly sold out, weekend camping sold out. thank you axl and slash for saving this festival. is what some very strange youngsters should be saying right now. GnR are by far the biggest band download can attract, no matter the quality of performance (with acdc and metallica)

I would wager that the first day tickets to sell out will be the Sunday for Linkin Park.

I wouldn't be so sure now, I thought they would fly out.

Well Sunday day tickets have now sold out and both Friday and Saturday are still available without a low ticket warning on TM. Arena Only also has a low ticket warning on TM so they are probably next to go.

Am after a few tips for a few bands to see during the daytime slots this year.

Who (on the line up) apart from the headliners has been around the block a bit AND still smash it live?

Who do you generally like or what genres?

Best live band on the lineup excluding headliners is Electric Callboy. Letlive meant to be great, Fever 333 were always incredible so worth a watch. Not a fan of Bad Omens but were decent live when they supporting BMTH. Would also highly recommend Unpeople live although very new and big early slot so will be interesting. Ones not to miss if I was attending would have to be Feeder & Dinosaur Pile-Up, both will be massive in the tent. Dune Rats are also ace, surfer punk band (think Australian FIDLAR) are ace too, playing district X but not sure what day.

Ah yes it had indeed. To be honest as well it's by far the best day too. I want to see Marmozets from Saturday and Drowning Pool who I already have but that’s all.

Planning to pick up a sunday day ticket later. Nothing on twickets currently but I'm sure they will appear.

Anyone know historically which days have sold out?

Off the top of my head:

AC/DC and Rage in 2010

Metallica and weekend tickets in 2012

GNR in 2018

All four days and weekend in 2023

Absolutely not surprised Sunday sold out first. LP are by a considerable margin the biggest pull on the poster rn so will definitely have shifted a lot of tickets. I still think Friday has the overall better lineup though.

And who’d have thought Axl n’ Friends’ boredom extravaganza wouldn’t have sold out yet? 😛

This year is going to be incredible, you can just feel it.

Friday sold out as well now, only Saturday left! Actually shocked it’s the last to sell out

I'm not, Guns just sound washed now. I personally and I know that's just one view have two bands I care for on Saturday really, one I've seen and another is just over £20 a ticket to see. For the life of me as well I can't understand why you would as a Guns fan want Architects and Trivium before them and vise versa.

Friday main stage overall is better than Sunday which I actually think it pretty pants. But Pendulum being 4th down in broad daylight is biggest waste of a booking on the lineup. P.O.D and Hollywood Undead are favourites of mine. If you were going to book them as per them doing a smaller tour purposely, put them in the Avalanche clashing with Bizkit or at the very least subbing second so there is a glamour of a dim light coming. Sunday second stage and 3rd though are the best of the lineuo imo easily.

I think people are more shocked that Friday has sold out over Saturday, than that Saturday hasn't sold out. But that said, I think most are underestimating the pull Limp Bizkit have remade themselves. Their shows are class (yes I know everyone is worried about how they'll fill a 2 hours set) and they're always popping up on socials showing people going mental, it's a massive draw for people.

Arguably the best undercard of the weekend top with stuff well crafted to complement the headliner; especially how the main stage ramps up.

It's just overall really good festival booking.

They won't have to full a 2hour set. Not the best undercard personally but I agree with crafted for the headliner. Cypress Hill is a rarity but I'm not bothered really and never got EC. P.O.D, Hollywood Undead and Pendulum on paper is the best 3 band run in my opinion on paper there for me but Pendulum I know I'd be disappointed by.

There are good undercard options I like this year, specifically Sunday and a couple on Saturday but I don't think its a great lineup overall. LP main stage day for me personally is poor, very poor in fact but the other stages are where I will spend my day. I don't mind INK most recent song but that's about it. Unfortunately they didn't really need a belting day to sell their day well given the interest in their own show.

Anybody seen anything about the Scotland game being shown yet? Or even any world cup games at all? It's at 2am so doesn't interfere with any bands and I remember one year they showed England v Italy on the screens at the second stage after the bands finished. Just hoping they will be at least showing it somewhere.
