"I don't care how popular they are they shouldn't play because I don't like them" okay mate

I actually do like them but they are a novelty band, he's not wrong. But I came to expect it was going to happen and can just avoid it. Their Reading sub slot makes it look like a very poor booking with constant year on year touring, even more so than SOAD did as they at least had reached the headline point.

But ah well, it's not worth crying over

You don't book a band like Limp Bizkit for a Donnington festival when Rush are touring..

It's not about whether I like them or not, headlining Donnington should be for rock bands not novelty pop acts who happen to be heavy.

Ah okay, you're ragebaiting, fair play, got me good.

The photo of WhatsApp is defo fake but the photos on download website seem legit, is there a way that someone would fake these? Only strange thing about it is omissions like ADTR that I’d have expected to see & Architects playing when they weren’t expected.

Tbf you actually make a good point why they shouldn't be headlining this year but he basically said they shouldn't be headlining because he doesn't like them

I'll enjoy them either way just like I enjoyed Korn this year even though they were on paper a 'weak' booking

Disagree that Linkin Park have been booked on name value alone.

They sold out Wembley Stadium this year, and seemingly their comeback has had some serious traction. Are they the same band as they were with Chester? Not completely. But they're over a year into consistent touring, and still continuing to sell massive amounts of tickets. It's easily past the point of being a name booking now. Despite the naysayers, Emily is a decent fit for the band and is only getting better as time goes on. From Zero is also a banging album, to be fair.

It's a great booking, and day tickets will sell just fine.

That's the difference really, sold out Wembley Stadium and won a lot of people over vs Wembley Arena.

You could say booked on name alone about a lot of bands to honest as well so it's a bit silly. Bizkit will set the bar very low now though for what is accepted as a headliner.

According to this Bad Omens are subbing Linkin Park AND headlining second stage 😂

Bad fake, it’s so stacked. It says:

We are getting all 3 headliners: Ghost, Guns n Roses & Linkin Park. Marilyn Manson is subbing Ghost, Limp Bizkit subbing Guns n Roses and Bad Omens subbing Linkin Park. Papa Roach are also on main stage before Bad Omens & Alice Cooper headlining 2nd stage. So are Electric Callboy. Two from further down the bill who I can't wait to see are Letlive and Gallows with Frank Carter (original lineup). There's some other bands who will be announced including Bury Tomorrow, Drowning Pool [****], Three Days Grace.

I'm not rage-baiting. Having a different opinion to you is not automatically rage-baiting.

To be honest I kind of hope the leak on the website is just some bored web developer messing with us and they come out with different headliners tonight, but I reckon it's legit sadly.

This. Anyone still complaining that LP isn’t the same/aren’t headliner material anymore are seemingly oblivious to just how popular they are atm. And the moaners have done nothing to stem their streams/ticket sales/album sales.

Pretty poor but it’ll sell well due to GNR & LP. Only acts I’m interested in is GNR, Bizkit, Architects, Baby Metal, EC, Pretty Reckless & Unpeople but seen them bar original GNR but I watched them without Slash at R&L 2010 and they were poor then, turned up an hour late too.

If Frank is back with Gallows I'm hyped for that alone!

Dont think so. Lp, lb and gnr are supposedly the headliners. Id prefer ghost tho. Even if ghost headline with lb as a support would be fine

They are on the table, just not this one.

ADTR not being there would help out.

Just not liking them is poor. I've always thought they were a novelty/gimmick band and you can still do well as that. They aren't a serious band are they, they are an hour of fun to jump around to.

I think Bizkit are even weaker then Korn to be honest though. They hadn't toured for that long constantly and hadn't taken a sub spot at a major festival this year again still and they sold out their outdoor tour the year before Download.

Now that would have been a lineup!

If it is LP/LB/GNR that's the weakest Download line-up in years. Absolutely nothing exciting.

Linkin Park are a glorified tribute band these days and Emily doesn't work as a singer.

LB are a decades old novelty band. Don't get how they'd headline your mum's back garden let alone Download.

GNR were a draw in 2018 (I bought my ticket to see them that year) but the set wasn't great and anybody who wants to see them could have gone to their own tour in recent years. Awful booking.

I’m sure it will draw more than Motlry Crue Rush and Whitesnake though …

LP, Pendulum, BVB for me and they aren't that important. Is that saying that Pendulum are there again.

Rush would draw more as a UK exclusive after years of being inactive than GNR are going to draw 8 years into their touring with a reputation for patchy live performances...

Where are these being posted?

The links seem to be from Download's behind-the-scenes media storage. Someone's either leaked one or figured out what to look for, and after that people have just tried substituting in different band names. Reckon the file names might be a bit more random next year?!

strangely this is the exact same way that there was a graspop leak a couple of years ago, I think 2019. I would have thought that the organisers of these fests communicate with each other so that it doesn't happen anymore.

It's how we worked out the Trees lineup a few years a go too. Trees have better website security than Download!
