BMTH day this year proved that rock fans will come in for the day if it is tailored in such a way that appeals to them.

It was certainly busy for BMTH. Don’t know how busy it was for the Travis day as I barely went into the arena but I’ve never seen it so busy all day in the arena for the Chappell day. Bloc Party had a massive crowd at like 3pm.

Have they been announced for Greenfields though

Fair I don’t see it being LB

This is the reason. Whether you see it or not doesn't mean the possibility is ruled out and it's closer for them travelling to just pop to Bern from Czech than to the UK.

The whole thing felt so disjointed this year, really felt for the first time (to me at least) like three one-day events.

Reading days are dieing, lineup quality has been poor for tour bucket for years.

I doubt they’d book 3 ‘classic rock’ second stage headliners and Gn’R as well. Feels like they’d be going backwards with that.

To be honest if they booked LB, GNR and LP for exmaple they aren't exactly going forwards if Megadeth and Alice Cooper are on second stage as well. Ghost in the mix there would be a move forward.

Yep agreed, but even at their absolute peak of appealing to the MOR crowd I don’t think we’ve ever had three ‘classic rock’ second stage headliners. It just doesn’t track with what Download see themselves as now.

I agree, we went to Reading this year and it was hammered all day for the rock bands. That said, I don’t think I’d ever do a full weekend again, and just go for the ‘rock’ day

Prodigy just posted announcement Monday at 5pm

Which pretty much rules them out as they're not going to make an announcement about being at Download before Download make theirs.

Looks like it might be the MK Bowl from the video.

Yeah it's their own outdoor show. Just weird they would schedule it same day as Download announcement

    • I thought some time back that I could see Get Down Services getting a slot in Woodsies
    • Tickets on sale when I'm abroad (I'm assuming this sells out in minutes), and the actual dates could not be worse for me work-wise. Still going to try to get tickets, of course, but god damn!
    • I'm personally confident that Slipknot will be one of the headliners next year (no insider info just lines up with them likely releasing an album soon)    Then there's the headliner that's never played the festival before which the bookers have alluded to so that's one of Blink, Foos, NIN, Nickelback and possibly Pearl Jam or even Bon Jovi    The third band I also think will be a new headliner who are being bumped up so Deftones, Offspring, Paramore Etc.    I'd love Slipknot, Foos and Paramore but realistically i'd go with Slipknot, Blink and Deftones
    • Loads of people have to listen to music they don't like all day, while at work!   Not much different.
