I'd be happy with that TBF. Bands I'd mark down as definitely would be:

The Hives

Bush

Iron Maiden

The Offspring

Mastodon

A Perfect Circle

The Subways

Tom Morello

So a nice start. I'd then also be happy seeing:

Limp Bizkit

Babymetal

Alter bridge

Trivium

Volbeat

Prob be some clashes but overall that gives me a good base for several bands each day and then I have plenty of bands to listen to where I will pick up a few more so I'd be more than happy with that.

We aren't getting Maiden and Alter Bridge (have their own outdoor shows) and Perfect Circle are very unlikely (London gigs week before Download and are only free for the Sunday)

The rest could all appear however

Have you checked out Bloodywood? Excellent band. Desi nu-metal.

Also Absolute Elsewhere by Blood Incantation is a 10/10 album and amazing live.

No, there's loads of bands on there I haven't heard. Just gonna wait till the poster drops then go through each one, any I find interesting I'll make a playlist and by the time the festival comes round they should be well listened to. I'll give these a blast.

Ah I know, loads of these won't play Download. I was just talking about that festival in general, not expecting these to show up but if ai gets a similar amount of bands I'll be happy with that.

Hello!

I’m guessing Download and Graspop have the same headliner. The one that isn’t announced.

could it be:

Avril Lavigne

Aerosmith

Ghost

Muse

Blink 182

Evanescence

Guns N’ Roses

Avril Lavigne ain't gonna headline Graspop.

How many festivals have this TBC headliner then? And do we think its the same one for all of them if so?

Download obviously, Graspop has one to announce, Greenfields has two to announce and Rock For People has one to announce.

Rock For People and Greenfields both have a Saturday headliner to announce so there's either a 2nd headliner unannounced for anywhere or one of them is getting a smaller one playing elsewhere

So if the TBC is the same band for these festivals, are we assuming Download get exclusive rights on announcing it first?

That or the band wants the festivals to announce all at once.

With Rock For People, Greenfield and Graspop all missing a headliner it seems likely they'll all announce it alongside Download.

Im not sure that RFP, Download & Greenfield would all share a headliner as it would mean 3 dates in a row. I think RFP will be Foos but not sure on the other 3. Possibly Thurs Greenfield is Friday Download I guess?

Yeah it won't all be the same hesdliner. So many times different events announce the same day and it's two, sometimes 3 different acts. I think RFP could be Foos or Ghost, but Ghost not having been announced for anywhere yet gives less hope in Download. I don't think they would just do Download and RFP myself and they can only do two of RFP, Download and Greenfield woth what you would expect other shows. They aren't a big enough deal to be exclusive but it didn't stop FOB. There are also enough options around this summer but as we've seen Download had already missed out on a few options.

Had a good scan of the Grasspop lineup and I think we will also get the following bands:

ADTR, Limp Bizkit, Static-X, Gatecreeper, Snot, Pennywise, thrown, Bloodywood, Magnolia Park, Volbeat, Twisted Sister, Trivium, Mammoth, Avatar, Corrosion of Conformity, Drowning Pool, Kublai Khan TX, We Came As Romans, letlive, Thornhill, Ice Nine Kills, Hollywood Undead, Bad Omens, Babymetal, P.O.D, Lacuna Coil, TesseracT, Rivers of Nihil, Mouth Culture, Electric Callboy, Mastodon, Kanonenfieber, Decapitated, Gaerea, The Plot In You, Lagwagon, Set It Off, Wargasm, Harms Way, Scowl, Periphery, TX2.

Would be cool to see bands like Cult of Luna, Wolves In The Throne Room, Death To All and Six Feet Under there but I can’t really see it.

Seconding that on Absolute Elsewhere. What a gem of an album.

I went to the Absolute Elsewhere tour a couple of weeks ago and it was one of the most impressive things I’ve ever seen. Unbelievable album and an unbelievably talented and tight band. Really hope they headline the Dogtooth one night at DL (preferably against GNR / Ghost / Linkin Park).

Good to see the love for Blood Incantation 🙂

If Download do go for Scowl I'd be surprised after 2024..depends how forgiving they feel I guess.

Wolves In The Throne Room and Gaerea I hope do Arctangent as they'd get really good slots there as opposed to 25 mins on Dogtooth.

But really Download should be changing their Dogtooth strategy by reducing number of bands and increasing set times.

Tesseract yes I think will be at Download having done Radar year and Arctangent this year.

2. Feeder

3. Bush

4. Placebo

5. Electric Six

6. The Rasmus

7. Stereophonics

8. Terrorvision

9. Manic Street Preachers

You can add The Story So Far to this as well who was announced for Rock Am Ring, them and Letlive 2 of the 3 Avalanche headliners I think.

I think one of the headliners for Greenfield could be Megadeth, would make sense as to why they're apparently not playing in the UK until 2027.

Plenty of good stuff here. Hoping they decided to take a chance on bands like Kanonenfieber and Wolves In The Throne Room, I think there's definitely a place for the more extreme stuff at Download (the pits for Anaal Nathrakh showed that this year).

    • Rumours are it's called The Lost Tour. In the US in September. Ireland in November (so UK+Europe a good bet around November/early December).
    • Hey guys, is there a group going for any solo y not goers this year?? I couldn’t miss out once I saw the acts but it’s just me and would be great to meet some others:))
    • After deciding to abandon the festival, here's a few of my thoughts (mostly negative tbf).    On the positive side - was it just me or were there a few more urinals than last year? Seemed to help the queues at the loos a bit from what i saw. Plus they had at least had some foresight and had a few more covered areas in the VIP areas.    Now on the negatives.  The weather was admittedly pretty crap but it wasn't apocalyptic. How the actual f**k are bits of the main stage falling off in those conditions?  Then the communication was awful, there's a load of people who left the site because they were told by security guards/other personnel that there would be no more acts on the main stage this evening.  You have an app Primavera, use it! Yes, there's a shitload going on I'm sure but communication with the festivalgoers should be one of the top priorities. You failed.    And I'm not usually somebody who buys into the whole "oh this is hugely unsafe and it's lucky people weren't hurt" narrative, but all the above led to movements of people that were genuinely unsafe.  Evacuating Mordor entirely (again... Why???) and then having a horde of people trying to get in because they thought they were going to Massive Attack was insane.  And given a lot of people basically abandoned ship around 10.30pm the crush at both the exit to the festival and the entrance to the Metro was pretty dangerous.   Conditions happen, most people will get that....but the contingencies have to be better.
    • You'd think that something like bad weather was in the basics of festival planning. After the shitshow of Madrid, you'd think they'd learnt their lesson, apparently not...
    • Same. Shower and back out in a taxi!
