The venue for Maiden is probably going to one of these

1. The new BST festival

2. Knebworth

3. MK Bowl

4. Some big park somewhere

5. Donington as a one day Monsters of Rock revival to mark 30 years since the last one

If it’s promoted by Kilimanjaro it won’t be BST because that’s AEG and I’m fairly sure it can’t be Monsters of Rock either as that’s owned by Live Nation.

Only clue they’ve been given is it’s Linkin Park, a band who has played Reading and Leeds in last 4 years, and finally a band who has been around since before 1991.

I think the best case scenario with this clue if it's even true for me would be Blink, AC/DC and LP but there's no chance that happens lol

I can only see Download bothering to go for the old headliners from the 70's and 80's now if it's going to be a final UK show which for AC/DC is probably only a year or two away with Brian turning 80 in 2027.

If it's Kimanjaro then could have the Sonisphere branding attached. Though 'Maidenfest' also has a nice ring.

'Sonipshere presents: Iron Maiden an 50 year birthday celebration' with say 5 or 6 support bands? Judas Preist plus a bunch of other UK metal bands?

ive been told it is NOT hyde park BST and they are announcing it on sept 22nd as a separate thing unrelated to the rest of the tour.

It being unrelated to the rest of the tour seems a bit odd. Would make sense if it was the final show of the tour but it it's going to be right near the start of it.

Sonisphere trialling returning with a one day festival would make sense, especially with Kilimanjaro doing it and the fact Sonisphere originally started off as single day events

That's a good thing imo can't rely on the old boys for much longer

But getting a band like AC/DC for their final UK show would make them buckets lol

1996 was the final Monsters of Rock. It’ll have that branding, most likely.

Live Nation I think owns the Monsters of Rock name and the Maiden gig is being done by Kilimanjaro who booked Sonisphere.

Plus having MoR outside of Donington would be a bit odd.

The last UK Monsters of Rock was actually at MK Bowl, but people tend to forget that existed.

I imagine a lot consider '96 to the the last one since it was at Donington while '06 wasn't. They do still have international events under the Monsters of Rock branding though

If the Maiden set is exclusive I would imagine that then means it's at least mostly going to be songs they're not doing on the Run For Your Lives tour.

We should be so lucky.

Digging around, it doesn't sound like it's Sonisphere branding, but heard nothing else with it.

Not sure why people think they’re going to be popping the branding of a >decade old defunct festival on the exclusive Maiden show. Yes, we all loved Sonisphere, yes we all want it back, but Maiden would be propping that name up, not the other way around 😅

Same promoter and same time of year and rumoured same venue. Sometimes 2 + 2 does really equal 4 lol.

Using the same promoter/booker Sonisphere had, around the same time the festival was but a week later due to the Metallica gigs

    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
    • Yeah, I admit that a small part of me felt relieved when they announced that MA are canceled.. But on the positive side- got to see Florence Road afterall, and they were great
    • Glad I could take the €3 bus to Playa Catalunya! Hope y'all warm and dry up.
