Self Esteem

Just rewatched this this morning - was on the fence between a few options at the time. So Glad I did - what a cracker -

been diving back into the new album again aswell.

Be back on a  bigger stage next time no doubt.  Sub headlining the Other would be my current bet

Anyone catch Self Esteem at the Park last night? What an incredible performance, full of heart and joy.

Shame I can’t find any SE merch anywhere. Does the Park stage have its own official merch stand selling acts playing the stage?

Late to this but yes, I was near the front and she was probably my highlight of the weekend. Joyous! Her stage presence, voice, choreo and the onstage camaraderie with her band/ dancers was the best - she seemed to be having the time of her life. I was surrounded by women of all ages and it felt very sisterly and euphoric, but I also thought it was great to see loads of men there, far more than previous times I've seen her.

Have booked tickets for Brixton ❤️

Just spotted that she’s put a 3rd date on in Manchester but at the smaller academy 2.

Just looks like a third date at the main academy to me, where you seeing academy 2? If it actually is there I'd genuinely be tempted to see her twice in a matter of days! Big venue followed by intimate.

Really looking forward to seeing her back in Sheffield in October. Looks like they are still only selling the lower bowl at the arena, would hope that for a homecoming show that it'd shift a bit better than that...  Though I guess the arena was a bit of a stretch

it looks like see tickets say it’s academy 2 but when you click through it’s actually the same as the others.

Ah yeah that is misleading. Definitely just a third date in the main academy based on the academy's own website. Little odd as it doesn't look like the Sunday date has sold out yet. Presumably must be close and they're confident the demand is there?

    • Another one from Sheffield DocFest this weekend, Earth Wind & Fire docu, directed by Questlove. Sensational archive footage, contributions from band members, family, plus a lot of very big fans (Stevie, Lionel, Flea, the Obamas) and a warts n all assessment of the genius / flawed human being that was Maurice White. Also, I never realised he started out as a jazz drummer with Ramsay Lewis. Well worth a watch.
    • In a 6,800-word Substack essay, external, the Clacton MP said "anti-white racism was embedded into the state", and that legislation aimed at equality was a form of "social cleansing"   .https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cdjkd4mp93zo   The privileged white c**t hasn’t got a clue what racism is.
    • BBC iPlayer: Will serve as the main hub for past sets, including both recent hits and iconic archival gems. You can explore the BBC iPlayer to watch curated compilations, "Best of Glastonbury" recaps, and on-demand replays of historic headline performances. [1, 2, 3] TV Broadcasts (BBC Two & BBC Three): The channels will air dedicated compilation shows. Leading up to the weekend, you can watch archive programming such as Glastonbury: 70s Legends, 80s Legends, and 90s Legends on BBC Two. [1] Radio & BBC Sounds: Pop-up Glastonbury radio stations on BBC Sounds will feature non-stop coverage, including exclusive mixes and huge sets from past years
    • Got HBO Max to watch football so watched One Battle After Another which is a great film and deserves its awards and then rewatched Magnolia and that is a flipping amazing film...so much in it. (also rewatching Angels In America series which is also amazing).
