2027 Headliners

I just saw Rock am Ring in Germany did a video announcing blink-182 will be playing it next year during this year's festival there.

We talked about when Glastonbury announces it's first headline act but that would be different if they announced a 2028 headliner during next year's event.

Imagine the whole Pyramid stage pit and multiple rows the other side of the double barriers being totally occupied by “Swifties” from early in the morning  on whatever day she plays, regardless of the rest of the bill

Assuming nobody knows she’s playing before the main sale, it wouldn’t be that bad. There’d still be plenty of Swifties for you to sneer at but it wouldn’t be because they’ve infiltrated the sale, it would be because she’s just that popular.

Feel like a lot of people do just sit around by the stage at a festival waiting for one act anyway, no? I know Swift has a big mega-fandom - she wouldn't have done so many Wembley shows last year if she didn't - but it's not like she'd be unique in playing a festival and drawing a crowd on that specific day just for her.

But then tbf I feel like there'd be a few happy just to mosy around the rest of the site until maybe 2/3 acts beforehand.

Missing the festival this year? Want a bit of nostalgia for the old days? Local to Manchester?

Our community venue in Stretford (Trafford) are showing the premiere of  Glastonbury the Movie, 30th anniversary cut with q&a with the director!

It's on Saturday 6th June, hope some of you can make it. And maybe even spot yourself in the crowd! We have a cameo in the closing credits 😁 unless it's been cut in the new edit.

belated thanks for this ended up going, was a good evening and a great venue with a cracking beer selection (give the festival a few tips on that). Never been in before despite reasonably local.

Main takeaways from the film (as someone who didnt go for much later). The festival has changes a lot since then apart from the Green Fields that looked the exact same.  Me and my mate both agreed that Shambala is today than Glastonbury.

Cool piece of merch aswell.

Presumably there’s a “better” missing from that

The only thing that Glastonbury beats Shambala on is depth and breadth of entertainment. On all other metrics Shambala is years ahead

Poorly worded on my dislexic part.    It should read Glastonbury 1993 looked more like Shambala in the present day than it does Glastonbury in the present day - if that makes sense

Yeah I get it, and totally agree.

I could post a long piece on the differences, but I reckon it would send most people over the edge

    • Had a lovely day in Prague now off to the festival. Very excited hope we all have fun regardless of weather!!
    • Iran are winning. If US aren't going to do the full invasion thing, then they may as well admit defeat and do what is needed to get the strait opened. Iran obviously have decided they can take any pain and stick it out as they have all the cards with this Hormuz thing. But obviously Trump can't admit defeat, and Israel just want this to keep going...and maybe it will carry on like this till after elections in both US and Israel towards the end of this year. God knows how the global economy will be by then.
    • All kicking off in N Ireland, all aided and abetted on videos that get circulated on social media and Elon Musk and Tommy Robinson telling people to take to the streets. Social media needs regulating same as publishers, if they have algorithms that push whatever to people then they are effectively publishers anyway. The problem is just going to get worse and worse.
