3 more rock bands that I can see headline a day at Sziget are The Black Keys, Maneskin and Bring Me The Horizon. From these 3, The Black Keys are confirmed to be in Europe until July 19 with no other confirmed shows after that date.

I really hope it's not BMTH. Try as I might, I just can't get into them at all, and it's a genre of music I enjoy. Just not done by them. Everyone on the L&R forum were overjoyed when they were announced, so I'm obviously missing something.

The Black Keys won't stay in Europe for three more weeks.
Måneskin are basically on hiatus as both singer and bass player are planning tours with their solo / DJ projects.
BMTH are RAR / RIP exclusives in mainland Europe.
Maybe The Smashing Pumpkins / Iggy Pop / Snow Patrol could make a rock co-headline combo, but I'm not sure.

I wouldn't be surprised if they 'avoid' rock headliners this year and concentrate simply on electronic/pop/rap

I don't think that would be a good move at all. You can't just turn a festival renowned for providing a mix of genres into one offering such a narrow selection. I'd put good money on there being a rock/indie headliner......this year at least.

Yeah going back to the clue. Wouldn’t that suggest OLD rock? You wouldn’t call BMTH rock n roll?

and it’s defo a headliner, they wouldn’t specifically shout out an undercard in this context…

Is the Rolling Stones completely unhinged idea? They are apparently ready to announce a European tour in the coming days.

This is the point I was trying to make by suggesting Iggy. I'm not sure you classify any successful, modern act as a rock n roll band. They're usually just rock or indie. Rock n roll implies someone older.

The Stones would be a coup and a half but I really can't see it, there'd be no budget left!

Out of all the names being talked about, the only that truly offers 'a touch of rock n roll' is Iggy. In fact, he is probably the epitome of rock n roll!

Whether he is a headliner is doubtful, but he'd make a hell of a sub for someone.

Definitely need another co-headliner that day then

Do you think Grimes could be performing? Or make an appearance seeing as she’s dating and touring with Anyma

No, she's done with touring. She does some DJ sets occasionally but her Coachella set was tragic so you don't wanna see that.

BMTH were ruled out many times over here. Bringing Rolling Stones to a festival which is basically giving up live music sounds ridiculous. Even Glasto or Coachella can't have them and they will appear at Sziget all of a sudden?

I think the most realistic option is Post Malone because of the 'Beerbongs & Bentleys' album, his partnership with Bud Light and the fact that he's always been associated with rock music.

Could be Sting too

They started the messages with Happy Monday - and Happy Mondays do have a couple of gigs this summer. I wouldn't mind them honestly as an undercard. Also, what about the Idles? They could even headline I guess, and they seem to be available during Sziget.

Happy Mondays for Sziget? 😃

Another monday caption at their newest instagram post..

also - one post said something about singing in the shower, could this be hinting to Becky G? She has no shows planned yet this year though, so seems quite unlikely. Can’t think of any other artist this can hint to. But it’s an odd caption, normally i don’t read too much into things but i really think there’s a clue involved in that sentence.

Not everything they post is a hint 😉

    • I think a Take to the Skies set would probably be the thing that gets me to go to this. Couldn't give a f**k whatelse is on there if that happens.   Feel like Knocked Loose might be too big by that point.
    • Issac Wood in support????   A lot here to digest
