Remember when we all  thought "Freedom Fries" was mental.

Things were so easy back then

f**king hell this Hegseth guy, jesus christ on a f**king bike...

His speeches this week have been odd, given he seems to contradict his previous speech every time he made a next one. Then not helped by Vance, for whatever reason, deciding that trying to cheer-lead far-right parties was the way to close the Munich conference.

As for the Ukraine situation, is Trump even that good a deal-maker? From his first administration, his North Korean one went nowhere and did nothing to stop their ambitions, there was a debacle in getting troops out of Syria and while Biden oversaw it, the botched withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2021 was from a deal Trump signed with the Taliban after cutting out the US-supported Afghan government that duly collapsed. For all he talks about being the master deal-maker, he seems to be quite sh*t at it.

well we'll see what happens...he definitely has shaken things up and got things moving...god knows where or how all the pieces will land both in middle east and in Ukraine.

Looks like if Trump-Putin deal over Ukraine means no NATO membership for Ukraine then could still be NATO troops stationed permanently in Ukraine, I guess near the new border. May or may not include US soldiers, guessing not at this stage, which is where a European army idea starts to take shape.

Europe playing catch up, they really should have seen this coming.

    • My understanding is that the queues returning back to the UK will be much worse (up to two hours) but the queue entering Lisbon isn’t so bad. That’s just from reading a few forum posts about it though so take it with a pinch of salt!

    • World Cup 2026: What is happening with ticket prices? - BBC Sport   Sounds like Infantino has been learning from his buddy if he's running around claiming its all sold out while quietly dumping tickets below face on assorted secondary websites.
    • Mac DeMarco also cancelled
    • I'm British so it very much would apply for me.   I mean, it's a moot point as I don't have tickets so will not be in town for this, but I've heard reports of lengthy queues and given I remember Lisbon Airport having a long queue at arrivals even pre-EES when I went in 2023, I seem to guess it might be quite the wait, depending on flight paths.   Certainly, the worst I've had pre-EES was a 45 minute wait for a stamp at Valencia Airport in Spain, where 4 flights to non-EU destinations in quick succession were placed one after the other. So I can't say I'm enthusiastic about what's in store. Or you know. Maybe I'm just overthinking it.
