Hamas attack on Oct 7th not only led to their near destruction along with the rest of Gaza, but also huge damage to Hezbollah and now this in Syria, and has made Iran look a lot weaker than it did. Israel looks stronger than ever, and now has an even more pro Israel president on the way. An unprecedented disaster for Hamas, Iran's proxies, and now maybe Assad.

Sinn Fein in power in both north and south would definitely be a thing.

Looks like biggest winner in Ireland is centre right Fianna Fáil, biggest losers are the Greens...they're getting the blame for unpopular carbon tax.

France is a bit f**ked, like Germany, like much of EU, like Europe..and the west altogether. All good things come to an end I guess.

Well, the South Korean situation is unexpected and given there's been a lot of criticism of it even from the President's own party, let alone the opposition, begs the question as to why.

looks like parliament has managed to block it...so more likely this will be the end of Yoon's presidency.

I would guess that green voters havent abandoned the green party because of the introduction of a carbon tax. Seems more likely that that was a rare win in otherwise having to swallow a truckload of free market, anti environment sh*t.

 

The lib dems weren’t unpopular after the uk coalition because they managed to get same sex marriage done, but because they also submitted to tory austerity and u turned on pretty much all their manifesto commitments (ie the reasons people voted for them).

Potentially - a majority of South Korean MPs voted to block martial law and under their constitution, that means it can't happen according to a Guardian summary.

 

Still, makes ya think what the hell's going on there for the President to go mental in such a way.

apparently he's been accusing opposition of being in cahoots with N Korea recently, and there's been a bunch of other stuff going on...strikes etc. But yeah, does seem a bit extreme so have to see what comes out.

Makes a nice change from Trump, Ukraine or the middle f**king east.

Assad's grip on Syria almost completely gone...rebels heading for Damascus now. If he is defeated and loses power god knows what comes next...could be pretty chaotic.
