Download 2025

Hi everyone, hope you're all well and I'm ok to ask on this thread....

I'm looking at Download tickets for 2025 and they are currently showing at £300 - based on previous years, does anybody have an indication how much approximately the cost will go up to if we wait until after the first announcement to purchase?

Thanks in advance.

Do wonder if we'll ever get to the point where Download throws caution to the wind and alights on something more esoteric to the traditional template.

I remember a friend banging the drum about Depeche Mode being suited here a few years ago, and I do sometimes wonder if he has merit in such crackerjack talk.

Depeche Mode would be great. The Cure would go down a storm, too. I seem to remember Copping previously stating he wouldn’t book them because he doesn’t think they’re the right fit and they’d be ‘too left field’. I’d argue they would fit really well.

The Cure was the exact other artist I was thinking of. Any claims that either act would potentially be "too pop" for Download can take a hike, especially when they've had Fall Out Boy and Bring Me the Horizon among recent headliners, and Green Day in the pipeline.

I personally think DM and The Cure wouldn't happen. Download would have to book those days too different to sell. A lot of Download goers aren't as excited about Green Day as people in here as a lot of goer aren't a broad minded in their music as on here.

Amyl aren't playing 4th down now, definitely switch with JEW of the same day. I definitely think Slayer will take second stage. The reason why bands are prepared to take second stage that would sub is because with the now silyl system in place, subbing is very similar to what would be 3rd down placing and second stage will mean they close and player later than sub, on some cases significantly. The likes of RAR don't have that issue so a sub remains a sub....have a little think.

Amyl have just announced a gig at Ally Pally which Jimmy are playing in two weeks and have sold out plus they have songs everyone knows. They wouldn't be swapping.

On a different tour, it's the same people who sold out the roundhouse 3 times inside alexandra palace

you might well be right, I don't think JEW will get 3rd though. That said, if Korn can headline there no reason why others can't place a space higher too

Weird that the Download crowd might not be as excited about Green Day. That feels like some crusty gatekeeping to me, but hey ho.

I think they are going to get a great reception. Even the majority of metal only crusties are all for it. The ones that they will be raging about is Sleepy T. Reckon at least one person is going to threaten to set themselves on fire outside one of their November dates if Copping doesn't drop them as headliners for someone like Black Star Riders, Airborne or Saxon who could easily headline as they did it at Stonedead.

Seen loads on socials at Green Day being questioned. I don't think ST would be as they are more a Download band, I'm not sure if I'd quite say Green Day were.

Everyone on socials questions everything about Download ever year. Sleep Token will get shat on so hard because they’re such a young band who loads of people wouldn’t have even heard of. Green Day will pull the biggest crowd of the weekend.

Yep I'm one of those who had never heard of Sleep Token before the rumours of them Headlining so I listened to them on YouTube and for me personally it was a tough listen...But apparently they shift a lot of tickets and I may be wrong here but I'm sure I read Live Nation have invested a lot in to promoting them hence the potential Headliner slot at Download.

The majority of them don't believe that Sleepy T are headlining. Wait until the 12th November. Once they realise they are watch the meltdown.
