It's how we're socialised into a necessary part of life . There's nothing necessary about flying to the other of the world.

It’s how you justify shitting in your own bed.

My solar PV panels save about 0.9 tonnes of CO2 per year. My daily train commute saves 4kg per day when it would be easier to drive. I don’t have kids so that’s at least 10 tonnes a year absolute minimum per child.

Take my annual flights CO2 from that.

Well done for trying to do something useful, I'm simply suggesting others do the same by not flying.

Do you drive or get transported around in cars/taxis/minibuses/coaches/buses, or other land vehicles? Even electric?

Do you eat beef, pork, chicken, butter, cheese, eggs, yoghurt, anything dairy or with gelatine in it?

Because those two things combined far outweigh plane use per year. It's all very well targeting planes because you see it as unnecessary, but if we want to get really sanctimonious, let's get rid of cars because people could cycle three hours to work, they could only eat bread and water. Planes is an easy target because they're huge and we're socialised to see them as decadent, but they're not nearly as bad as all the cars etc people are getting about in or the meat people are consuming.

I'll confess to sometimes using vehicles, but some of use don't have the option of using our legs.

And everyone is just suggesting you should stop eating any meat or dairy, stop using cars too?

Because if you're still doing that, you're shitting in everyone's bed, clearly... more so than flyers.

Farming produces more emissions than all cars, lorries, and vans in the whole EU bloc.

Both produce far more emissions than planes.

as that shows - planes are by far the worst - Ii simply said i'm trying to do my bit by not choosing to do very damaging unnecessary things like flying , same as stuie did (anyone wanna tell him the carbon of his solar panels) -  cos i don't wanna be the muppet blaming china.

I’ll tell you… it worked out about 50g per kWh for about 20 months, then it’s neutral.

Some people like travel, some people like meat, everyone likes electric.

From my perspective, I don't see it as being that bad if people want to fly one or two times a year. If they don't eat a lot of meat, don't drive or own a car, then they offset that.

Depends on your definition of necessary.

I don't see cars as being necessary - haven't owned one for about 14 years and even then I only had that one for two years (I'm 38 fwiw). I don't see eating meat every day as necessary. Or bringing a coffee machine to Glastonbury with a bazillion battery packs to power it.

I do however fly about 2-3 times a year back to the UK to see family and I'm okay with that.

And some people don't like to think too hard.

I would normally agree, but I don’t think it is purely the name Easy Life, it was the tour poster and some of their merchandise.

I'm surprised in retrospect that the Easy Group didn't protest this before. Though I thought there was a thing about them trying to set up a retailer called Easy Life. Much as it's sh*t as who's confusing a band for an airline?

Apparently they've also taken this habit of litigation for more strange ideas, like this 2018 story about a Netflix sitcom called Easy leading to a call: Netflix sued by easyJet founder in trademark dispute | easyJet | The Guardian

Time to give up those chops.

Nah, it's much better to constantly just moan about everything lol. Just moan and then confess to using a car that constantly polutes by actually running.

why bother given other people attitudes., i'm gonna be china. 😛

Coronavirus only becomes a heavier issue during certain parts of the year, you're here all year round unfortunately with the worst attitude which is hugely ironic to talk others attitudes.

Take advice from Pete Davidson now, being on medication doesn't entitle you to be a jackass!

For the sake of the environment you should stay there and eat meat and talk to your family on FaceTime only forever more.

think it might be the possibility of future bad publicity that concerns easy-group, a headline worded in a particular way might have bad effect.

Pretty much every advert I've got on this site since I logged on has been for airlines - the dreaded easyJet themselves, plus Wizz and vueling. How's that for a coincidence?

not a coincidence, its a demonstration of technology working as its meant to work

addressing climate change will require lifestyle changes from all of us, giving up flying is the easiest change to make ( i've got 25 years of not flying to my carbon credit).
