For those who may not know the legend in Liverpool managed the record label that bought us half man half biscuit .

But a major force in Liverpool punk new wave scene and founder of the fantastic probe records were many of us spent many a happy hour .

Pete wylie Pete burns Paul Rutherford amongst many former staff of the shop .

All the names of 70s 80s echo and the bunnymen omd teardrop explodes wah deaf school all benefited from the support of Geoff.

Sad news and not too long after his ex-wife Annie. I used to go to school with their son.

Always popped in Probe back in the day but a teenage me in the late 80's it wasn't really my scene. Have the occasional nose in there now and again.

I gave my HMHB "Back in the D.H.S.S" as spin on Sunday.

Some nice tributes on the Half Man Half Biscuit page. At the start of their Bristol gig last night they played Nimrod Adagio and raised a (plastic) bottle to him.

I used to frequent Probe in the 80's. Not sure I remember him.  I certainly remember Pete Burns in there with his dreads.

Clearly massive influence on the local scene so thanks and RIP to him.
