I haven't seen QOTSA in years and Download/their own tour fell at the wrong time.

With RnR? It's reasonably well organised. C. 10k site capacity, 1 large 2 small stages, full day event, Main stage in a big tent so very forgiving if the weather isn't great.

Without sounding naïve, how have they bagged QOTSA to play a 10k event?

God knows! They have some kind of connection to Come Together - same promoters - so maybe they will pop up there too?

 

Headliners they've done previously Noel G, Self Esteem, Richard Hawley, Millburn ... and this year Rev & the Makers 🤷‍♀️

Any idea if they’re (QOTSA) to be the Friday or Sunday?

 

I didn’t expect them to announce anything else here other than Victorious, but I’m glad I’ve held off booking it as this seems quite a good alternative option.

No idea - announcement on Monday - but if they're coming up from Victorious, prob Friday

Appreciated, had a look and they've got Rock en Seine on Sunday 24th, so imagine they'll have a couple more dates tied in with the festival sets.

Just noticed it's for Weds, so potentially an extra date. For those coming from out of town, this is likely to be a late afternoon start, rather than midday (as for the weekend dates).

Queens have form with doing the odd smaller gig or festival. Their arena tour a couple of years back included 2,200 cap Stockton Globe.

Will definitely be getting a ticket for this in the fan pre-sale. 
 

Even though I’m from the south, it’ll be a lot cheaper and easier to go to this than Victorious!

Is this 10k? Was under the impression the bowl could hold much more, and that it was usually capped to 15k.

I think it's 10k because of the extra stages. I've definitely seen 10 for these events mentioned somewhere online. Also the tent effectively limits capacity for the main stage, and they don't tend to pitch anyone against the headline.

Same here! It's good news for the city and for RnR, and plenty of people I know will love this.
