i believe Heilung are even big enough to sub second at a push, Polyphia must be headlining Avalanche. People are really understimating the size of those bands

Don’t talk about underestimating sizes of bands when half the people on here questioned Fall Out Boy headlining after just shifting 100K tickets, same with I Prevail last year people questioned if they were big enough to play 3rd down after selling out an academy run and Wembley Arena, I have no idea how big Bad Omens are over here have they done a full size academy run even?

The only thing that makes me think it isn’t real is I would have bet my next mortgage payment Avril Lavigne was there. Think it’s fairly solid if not spectacular though

Yeah Avril was virtually ruled out as soon as Nova announced her. Czech Republic to Austria to Download the very next day would be overkill. 3 festival in 5 days in 3 different countries and Austria to Download flying isn't that straight forward.

R&L on the Blink day would be my bet - more fitting there than Download, even if Download is having a ‘softer’ year.

Yeah this is my bet along with a Glastonbury spot. I've never thought oh Avril would be a booking Download would make.

I'd be a bit surprised if Sum 41 played but there is nothing based on predicitons to get me to attend Sunday for the benefit of it.

Main subs: Royal Blood, The Offspring, Pantera

3rd main: Bad Omens, Sum 41, While She Sleeps

Opus headliners: Machine Head, Corey Taylor, Babymetal

Opus subs: Heilung, Billy Talent, Bowling For Soup

Avalanche: Polyphia, Thy Art Is Murder, The Used

Dogtooth: The Black Dahlia Murder, Biohazard, Fear Factory

These are my guesses.

Chinstrap looks to hav confirmed it on official forums (given his credibility from leaking last year).

If so it's not for me. Hope Machine Head do their own dates too. ArcTanGent announcement was disappointing too so maybe a festival free year.

Where did he confirm it on the forum?

Just remembered (and checked on Google) that there was talk of Slipknot doing a world tour in 2024. I think maybe they do a Knotfest UK with either Judas Priest or Korn as sub, plus a number of the bands doing the festival circuit that are apparantly missing from Download and not at Bloodstock. Kreator, Behemoth, Mudvayne and Satyricon for example. I obvs mentioned before I suspected it and when you see bands doing the circuit missing from both Download and Bloodstock it seems feasible.

Also surprised In Flames and Lamb Of God not announced for any fests yet. If multiple Knotfests happen I think they'd be ideal to play. I don't think Coal Chamber announced anything in Europe yet either?

Slipknot, Judas Priest, Lamb Of God, In Flames, Kreator, Coal Chamber, Mudvayne and Behemoth all in one day would pack out MK Bowl.

I would do that as well as Download. Maybe drop Judas Priest and add Sleep Token and Electric Callboy, though.

    • It’s rare that I watch question time, but I almost felt sorry for Kenyon, he seemed like a guy just brought off the street which effectively is what he was, made worse by the fact Burnham and the Tory guy were very strong debaters. I think Burnham was very aware not to go too hard on Kenyon and risk him getting sympathy, in fact he pretty much ignored him.
    • Shambles. Transport and comms garbage. Been looking forward to this since last June and have never been to a more disorganised festival in 30+ years.  Why we were told the whole festival was cancelled for the night if they had put back shows for a few hours?  Pissed off to say the very least and put a huge downer on the rest of the weekend.
    • Rotten communication. Actually god awful. Posting sporadically on IG, closing Mordor only to reopen and cause some serious carnage. Left the festival as it got too much for my 16year old daughter. She was devastated about Alex G and Mac…but TV girl could have saved it. Took us until 1220 and already home to find out they might/are playing. Pish.    and on another note, this festival has lost its bastard soul. Gone are the wee tents with local sellers selling vinyl, t shirts etc, now you can buy a 50 f**king eur official T-shirt. The ar*e is truely out of this event now. I went to Porto for the first time last year and it was fab. I love Barcelona and the line up is always stacked, but this festival is a corporate loss take. Hopefully a better day tomorrow.
    • f**king horrendous and seems they couldn’t run an egg and spoon race.  zero info and the crush waiting to get in to see Massive Attack was potentially disasterous. Zero info, no stewards at all and was told that the whole evening was cancelled, when we got to the exit. Because it rained. First time attendee and i’ve got onsay, i’m far from impressed. Scalping bastard taxis asking €37 plus for an €11 fare too. Wonderdul.
    • Rumours are it's called The Lost Tour. In the US in September. Ireland in November (so UK+Europe a good bet around November/early December).
