As someone who works in marketing... if this announcement is still happening... it is a VERY odd timing. Friday evening is amongst the worst in engagement.

It's pbb not happening until sunday, I thought they would have announced it by now today😅

Hungarian rapper Sisi just announced herself for Sziget. I imagine other names could follow in minutes or hours.

My guess is that there is a hold up and they pushed the announcement for next week.

I find it hard to imagine that any self respecting social manager would schedule an important post to Friday evening.

What do you think of the Arena linuep?

Coming more from rock/indie world so clearly i don't know much, but names like Alen Walker, Aoki, Claptone felt strong.. was last year bigger?

//Last year we had Ticketswap Party Arena and Samsung Colloseum and now they switched names and we have Samsung Party Arena and TicketSwap Colosseum 🥴Like why?

I've got a question: who the F is Hannah Grae? 😃

She was announced to the festival at the time when she had 3 songs on spotify, all of her songs has waaay below a million listens, sounds like a Disney soundtrack, according to Google she's a tiktoker but some of her content only has a couple of dozens of likes.

Is she a winner of a contest? Daughter/sister/lover of someone? Or do we know anything about her? She's also appearing at a few other relatively big festivals.

Iirc, she did some vids on YouTube which had a few hundred thousand views each. Alternative lyric vids such as Barbie Girl written from a different point of view.

Many years ago, I used to help put on one-day festivals for a town in England. We used to get record companies / agents etc say that if we booked their act as headliner we can choose three others (from a choice of ten usually) for a once price package.

So, for examples's sake, if it still works like that, she might have been booked as part of a package to ensure the festival got Florence and the Machine.

Why would she have to be a name tho? She is at a 5pm slot at the Freedome stage. Not exactly a headline spot. Also I dont have spotify but she has a full album on Apple music, and it’s pretty decent.

Is she that much lower caliber than other 5pm Freedome acts? For example the two remaining slots will be filled by  unkown Humgarian bands. Even as a Hungarian enjoyer of all genres I have never heard of them. I can certainly bet they are not know at all in international terms.

like, can i play then? (of course I can't) like, she was chosen for some reason, wasn't she? and I was wondering, of every band on the planet with songs listened by 5k-150k people, why her? btw it's fine, it's cool, i'll probably even check her out cause it could be fun based on her music. i was just wondering, maybe she's a well known Nickelodeon star or something, although at least people would listen to her music if that was the case.  but i'm being mean with no good reason, she's probably very talented.

aye, she is. in the same tent, at the same timeslot, in different days we've got Destroy Boys, Youngr, The Aces. They've got tens of millions of listens on multiple songs. we're expecting Krúbi to play in another 5pm slots at Freedome/A38 and his songs are in the millions, he's an established local artist. Even in Hungary, these (5k-150k listens on songs) are the stats of a random band playing in an afternoon at Kolorádó, or at a town fair, not at a major European festival. So the reason she's playing is definitely not in connection with how popular her music is, not based on past musical performance, this is why I was wondering.

This sounds so cool man, this festival organizer bit. Also this sounds like a reasonable explanation. It's seems like she's at a major label (based on her Spotify) so it's probably about something like this. She'll probably get advertised more in the future because of that, so, who knows, maybe we're seeing the first babysteps of a future star.

I suspect that she's probably been sold to the festival bookers as the 'next big thing' who they can have at a very small fee, thus creating a 'bond' with the act should she actually become a big star in the future.

Having listened to her, I'm not sure she will but it depends on how well she's managed. Baby Queen, on the other hand, sounds like she could be on the way up.....

Not to go into number wars, but she does have videos with 5.6 mil, 3 mil, 1 mil views as well. And that's not considering that I think she has a decent following on TikTok. In today's age you can't just consider Youtube as the ultimate be all end all, because younger people are much more present on TikTok. But again, even without that she seems qualified enough for the FIRST slot on the second stage.

Btw, I am almost certainly Krúbi will play the remaining 6:30pm slot and not the 5pm slot. That will be filled by Jazzbois who for example has the most viewed video at 700k, not even hitting 1 mil. Again, I don't think this is particualry that important for a small slot like this, but just to clarify.

    • It was awful during Father John Misty and I was close to the front. People just shouting and laughing their f-ing heads off about nothing in particular and being louder than the bloody stage.
    • Other things I noted yesterday, away from the obvious…   Positives: - an extra water point towards the back left of the main stages has appeared, which I believe is new for this year (and was much needed) - handing out free ponchos was a good touch  - caroline were fantastic. I’d never been in the Auditori Rockdelux before, it’s a wonderful venue and a great venue if you fancy a more chilled out environment  Negatives: - the talkers. I know it’s always bad here (and most festivals nowadays) but f**k me people wouldn’t shut up yesterday. I wonder if it was partly as a result of people being at artists they had little interest in (due to rain limiting their options), although it wasn’t great during blood orange. We’ll be making an effort to get a spot nearer the front for anyone we particularly care about over the weekend  - not enough staff around (and the ones that are there are largely useless). Most other festivals have them everywhere and are happy to help
