Can anybody recommend a possible or desirable setlist for them? I’m happy to be turned but at the moment never been impressed on the few listens I’ve given to them…

If you're looking for a taster set to try and get into them, then have a go at the following, in this order:

Chocolate

Love Me

Give Yourself a Try

Me & You Together Song

Looking for Somebody (To Love)

Heart Out

A Change of Heart

I Like America and America Likes Me (Real World Version)

If You're Too Shy (Let Me Know)

I'm In Love With You

Robbers

Somebody Else

About You

Love It If We Made It

Sex

Happiness

It's Not Living (If It's Not With You)

The Sound

If that's too long, then go for Love MeGive Yourself a TryRobbersSomebody ElseLove It If We Made It and It's Not Living (If It's Not With You).

If you're wanting a festival setlist idea, then try their R+L '22 setlist here - think it will functionally be very similar to what they might play at Glastonbury.

No idea if it will do the justice! And plenty probably out of order. But hope it's good.

Sometimes, they wear their influences very strongly - Give Yourself a Try is basically Joy Division's Disorder half a key change up, and Love It If We Made It owes a big debt to The Blue Nile - but I'd say the detractors who claim they're basically Simply Red Pt. II are just sneering for the sake of it.

Great song choice would swap the sound with girls

I suggest the first ablum. Also watch a few interviews on YouTube get to know the band. Watch their jools holland performance. Strap yourself in for June 2025

The interviews with Matt Healy are probably what made me generally dislike them in the first place and not really give them a try, unfortunately

When I find a new band, I always watch the interviews. I have to like the person as well as the music. I understand where you are coming from. I think he is a great guy. I don't like when a singer does not address the crowd during a gig

What you dont understand about Matt Healy is that he is first and foremmost an artist. he doesn't need your approval. he doesn't need your money. he doesn't even need you schmucks to go to the pyramid stage and see him put one of the greatest show the pyramid has ever seen in front of 120,000-125,000 music fans. so while you're off inspecting your navals at caribou or enjoying your remote controlled anal beads at loyle carner he going to be bringing up banger after banger after banger. thought he was out of bangers? wrong he plays another one. then when you get back to your jobs a few days later and some actual real people talk to you, they are going to ask where you were for the only set that any one will be talking about. you'll start to reply that you 'only listen to real music', but then you will realise that you have to lie and say you were there otherwise you are going to be judged even more than you already are. you'll think about the decisions that led you hear and inside be screaming, but outside you'll try to smile and say 'it was amazing'.

    • I was so lucky yesterday, disappointed of course not to see Massive Attack, but gorgeous sets from Blood Orange, Caroline, Panda Bear, and Father John Misty was a real highlight. The half of Geese i saw was mint too.   I wanted to see overmono but couldnt hack it anymore.   But now, its Friday, I'm In Love
