Glastonbury Guest List?

Does anybody have any experience of getting into the festival through a performer? A guest list, as such, on the gate. How would this work? Can anyone tell me any experiences they may have had ? Cheers

From other postings on this forum, I believe performers get a number of physical tickets.  There is no guest list as such.  But I have no personal knowledge or experience, just what others have said.  NB. If someone if offering to put you on a guest list for ££ high likelihood it's a scam.

Nothing like that the performer offered and just asked for the names of the people going. I was thinking it would be a pick the physical tickets up at the box office on your arrival.

Yes, there is a guest list pickup spot. You'll receive full instructions from them/the festival. It's a separate cabin or their Tour Manager will pick them up and distribute depending on the tour.

One of my friends works in the ‘industry’ and gets x2 guest tickets every year.

 Still have to pay the same £285 as everyone else though!

There's no list you get tickets. 

Be likely that's all closed by know tickets gone out already. 

As far as I know theres zero free tickets these days just the ability to buy hospitality tix.

They were £663 inc VAT this year.

That's what industry have to buy, never been offered a standard ticket through industry stuff.

Maybe guest list is the wrong way to put it, I mean tickets to collect on arrival, with the use of ID as why are names were taken. Also no payment has been made.

The festival are known to be very conservative in issuing tickets to stages for the acts they are putting on. I would think that you'd have to be a pretty prestigious act on one of the bigger stages to be issued tickets for more than just your band members/crew.

It does sound a bit suss, mate. Real talk - if someone is offering you this, and its not Paul McCartney then you might be being scammed. If you're scouting for info so you can scam other people - that's not how it works.

years ago , I drove a friend down to the festival. He knew someone or a band manager that got him a ticket. he paid through the nose for it.  we separated when we got there and he went and showed ID and then got his ticket.

 

I wasn't with him when he got to the office, but he met up with me later .

It’s a big performer, the ticket to my knowledge have been sorted out but I’m not sure/waiting to find out what to do next  

Just really wanted to know if I would be able to pick them up on a gate?

I’m also not a trying to scam people, I have no tickets to offer for others, just want to know what to do next as soon as possible.

If you're happy with the provenance, then it should just be a case of going to the relevant cabin outside Gate A (or possibly Wicket Gate, which is close enough to make no difference). The exact layout around the Gates can move around, and specific functions get split or consolidated, so best to turn up and ask for specifics on the day rather than plan in advance.

Great - its just really quite rare to get offered a ticket you don't have to pay for! No shade on you, you've only got 5 posts so you can only be too careful. But if anyone scamming IS reading this, this one won't be your most successful method 😂
