This is exactly what you don't want to happen, yes house prices are too high and it would be a good thing if they could be managed down gradually but a sudden crash would be disastrous for many people's livelihoods.

As a mechanism for bringing house prices down increasing interest rates is awful, if prices fall as interest rates increase you have people stuck in negative equity so can't sell their home whilst not being able to afford the increased mortgage payments.

If you want to bring house prices down look at developers, make them build more affordable housing not just the most profitable larger homes, make them build on the tracts of lands they buy up as fast as possible rather than holding back to restrict supply and maintain prices.

More affordable housing is lower quality hpusing and lower wages for builders.

Talk of Tory manoeuvres against Truss in the press this evening. Early days but still worth noting. They will be playing a massive risk doing that, they will seem as all over the place.

They’ve run out people to blame. Let’s go on a journey of their blame game:

- New Labour

- Lib Dems

- EU

- Judges

- MPs

- Scientists

- Civil servants

- Lawyers

- BBC

- Their own MPs

Who is left? I’m sure their fans will come at me to compare that list to Germany’s (or another random EU country) but seriously think who else is left for them to blame before they admit their own fault?

I'm sure Harry, Megan and Greta Thunberg all will get the blame as well.

Yes of course!

How I could forget them but especially environmentalists.

So to add to this we have:

- Environmentalists

- Trans people

- The King

Yet some will still turn a blind eye to them and claim the people highlighting these issues are the problem. I wonder just how long it will be till the Tories start blaming every day folk for the fault of the nation? By then it’ll be too late though.

    • I'm surprised they risked it, especially after nearly missing their Glasto 22 slot under similar circumstances  I did see someome say Ellie didnt sound as strong as recently but I'm guessing playing 3 shows in 2 different continents doesnt help that    On the topic though I can definitely see them doing a Fontaines and having a break over winter before a few final Clearing shows next summer
    • That's fair on WA - I did recall people thinking Fontaines would take this year off before this was announced.    On the subject of Wolf Alice, they did Lollapalooza in Chicago on Saturday then Kendal Calling last night. Bit of an odd choice, no? Half imagine at Kendal that they would've been just exhausted.
    • Just logged onto the app to start planning my days and there really are a LOT of stages missing. Apart from the Seaside Stage there is no Casemates this year etc. Apart from the Seaside Stage, there are no Casemates this year, etc. Can't see anything about the kids field really. And there's local acts that are normally there like Kojak's Revenge that aren't appearing either.  Normally we get down fairly early but I can't see anything before 3pm I'm keen to see. Only one real clash as well, which is good, but it's thin and it's not thin in the sense of "I've seen a lot of these acts before"
