Cos if Scotland leaves it'll be because of bigger porkies being told than garage managed plus much more damaging to Scotland than brexit might be. If they're going to make that big decision it shouldn't be because of lies that serve no one but the liars.

And? Why do you care how a group of people that you don’t belong to do with their right to self determination even if their decision is based on what you perceive are untruths.

come on...I expect most English people want Scotland to stay in UK...for a start I consider myself more British than English...but I guess going to have to get used to the fact that being English is actually a thing. Plus, without Scotland makes forever tory government even more likely.

Plus again, the union jack is a pretty cool flag...mods and britpop and all that....and you only see the England flag outside racists' houses

My question is why some English people want that though, I think its interestinh. Seems so arbitrary. Just some inherited sense of entitlement to another country? Or more generously a feeling of brotherhood? Sure, but you also don’t demand your brother live in your house and obey your rules..

I guess it's just what you're used to...the thought of UK and/or Britain breaking up is kind of existential...

I don't know...maybe...but we're not talking about Texas and Bavaria.

Indy supporters say "butscotland is a country," like the historical past gives it special rights now and into the future. They don't think thec same about Texas or bavRria. Which shows how their casis built on sand even in their own minds.

I'm not sure Scottish independence supporters are thinking too much about every other independence movement around the world. Each case is different, and should be treated differently. You know this though, right?

I'm not sure that sort of argument is going to work too well for the unionist cause.

It's fun tonridicule the narrative indy supporters like to have wherewere Scotland was only good and it was evil England that did the oppressive empire thing.

Does this not also apply to every country that has ever gained independence then? India, Canada, Jamaica, Ireland should have just accepted their fate as dominions of the British crown?

’Imposed’ by the death of the childless english monarch and the laws of succession owing to the interbreeding of ancient royal families.

Me I’m more of a democracy man myself. At the point at which the people of Scotland decide that they want to go it alone, then thats good enough for me.

Land Value Tax and Media reform was on the agenda, shame they didn't manage to get into the top 8 but good policies all round imo

    • It would be piss-easy for a bot to manage, though.
    • I've heard that ticket sales for other events that use the same system have included the question 'are you still there?' on each window/browser you have with a place in the queue. If you don't confirm you are, it'll assume you're not and that place will drop.   I've no idea if Glasto/See will adopt this, but it would be challenging to keep on top of with many windows open.
    • People who're struggling are already priced out, so I don't think a bump in price will affect who attends. There'll still be a cross section, leaning young. I also think they'll do a soft breaking of the £400 ceiling, keeping the ticket price just below but having postage take it over. Next year the ticket itself will be over that threshold.

    • Not sure if this has been mentioned but new La Roux album out November - was meant to play in 2020 but hasn't found her way back onto a lineup. If any excuse just to hear this absolute banger on the fields next year!
