Well, there will now be a lot of soul searching and recriminations on Democrat side, but maybe in the end whoever stood for Democrats were going to lose...polling constantly showed that the economy has been main issue for voters and they've been through a cost of living crisis.

And we all are horrified by Trump, but a lot of people really like him, they think he is on their side.

Biden’s name is gonna be mud after this for not stepping aside earlier and allowing for a proper primary. Kamala did great but she was on the back foot from day one.

and it's quite possible that US economy goes through a pretty good period, economic cycles and all that, and he'll get credit for that...unless he cocks it all up with tarrifs and stuff.

As great as she could imo. Few missteps here and there, but ultimately it seems that America just doesn’t want a female president, and perhaps Trump was inevitable all along.

I think if Newsom had been the candidate the result would be the same. The economy isn’t doing good enough and when that is the case people generally vote for change.

We'll never know if another candidate would have done better or worse than Harris. Fact is though that despite Jan 6th, despite all the convictions and charges, Trump has won all over the place and with all demographics. Maybe it is partly because Harris is a woman, partly because she isn't white, but maybe people are also worried about making ends meet, worried about crime, worried about immigration, don't like all the wars they're seeing on the tv, want change and like Trump's simple promises to fix everything.

Constant problem with American politics. These old pricks constantly put career first to the detriment of everyone else.

    • Judging by last night at Wembley, Luke Combs should be in the conversation of headliner. The UK is having a moment with country music so I don't think it would be particularly left field either.

    • It feels really busy this year, loads of big groups of youngsters too. Slightly different vibe to previous years I've been. As with Tramlines, they're very chatty during sets and there's a constant stream of them in and out of the crowd... definitely feeling my age 😂   The Quarry stage I think is a lot smaller than previous years - seems similar size to Squid/Leadmill. Some sets have been difficult to get in.   I think I've reached my limit with mid-tier indie guitar bands. There's been quite a few this weekend where I've gone over to see them then walked away after 20 mins. Surprisingly, enjoyed the Fratellis set the most in this genre. Probably getting on for 20 years since I last saw them. Wasn't expecting them to do Yes Sir, I Can Boogie, which was fab!   Hugely enjoyed the Happy Mondays yesterday, and same but different with Radio Free Alice who I saw again on Friday, following Tramlines last weekend. A big run of pop acts today - Scissor Sisters will be fantastic!
