Owen Jones view on Biden

I'm a non-believer, but if Hell exists, that man would have a first class ticket there.

A monster who belongs in jail.

He seems to have given up any semblance of journalism in a quest for likes and retweets. Interestingly the US left seem to be coalescing around Harris.

Harris hasn't got it yet...does Obama want it decided at the DNC convention?

DNC is 4 weeks away yet, that would leave only 3 months before polling day and surely they can see that another month squabbling amongst themselves isn't going to help.

maybe some think there should be more democratic legitimacy to Harris standing, maybe some would prefer a different candidate. Difficult to see anyone other than Harris at moment though, and as you say need to get on with it.

How the f**k do you get tweets to show up!?

Stevie had to explain this to me too.

Paste the link > change the x.com to twitter.com > Cut the link and re-paste > change the rich text to plain text and it should work.

I get that and it's a reasonable argument although it didn't seem to bother the tories when we needed to change PM's all those times.

Whichever way they go about it, they just need to stop the public internal arguments and let Biden turn the focus back on Trump.

It’s actually quite hilarious how little they seem to have on Kamala. She’s very much been in the background for Biden’s 4 years so hasn’t given them ammunition there, and her biggest downside seems to be that she was pretty tough on crime when she was a District Attorney, but Republicans whole thing is being tough on crime. So far, all they seem to have is that she’s a woman, of colour, and appears to laugh a lot…

Lots of stuff coming out about how Trump’s whole strategy has been to attack Biden specifically and now that he’s out, they’ve got f**k all. Apparently even JD Vance was chosen as VP because that were so sure they were gonna beat Biden that they didn’t even bother choosing a VP who could bring in undecided voters - they just went full MAGA loyalist instead thinking it wouldn’t matter.

f**k sake, last one just seemed to sort itself out so I was hoping this one would too.

I sorted that one out for you.🤣 I think the trick is once you've changed it to twitter.com, you then have to either copy it, delete the original and re-paste or cut it and re-paste. When I do it on ios it tells me that it has been pasted as rich text or something with an option to change to plain text. When I do that it automatically embeds it.

    • A few snaps from Sunday, which was huge fun, plus Happy Mondays, Radio Free Alice, Fratellis and Pale Waves. We didn't stay for The Streets, as after 3-4 songs it felt so downbeat compared to the rest of the day, and i've got another hectic week at work incoming.
    • It was fine, just hectic! The youngsters were mostly very well-behaved. The weather was a real bonus, although surprisingly chilly evenings - I guess it's the altitude - and the area between sound and main stage was a massive dust bowl.
    • Ive always had a lot of time for the mighty Shots, a pal of mine used to commentate on their games for Sussex Counties radio and he'd sneak me into the ground for midweek games, and we'd even nick a tea and a plate of sandwiches. This is back in the George Borg days, so um . . a little while ago now
    • Hmm, weird- Rush are playing the Co-Op live on the 12th and the 14th, and Megadeth are the meat in that sandwich - so they have to roll everything in, roll it out again, only to roll it back in and then out - here's hoping for a prog hokey-cokey with all manner of bizarre time signatures and drum solos!
    • Depends what you mean by seeing 'more stuff' about it.    I definitely don't trust the original Sun article.
