stuie
Hot Chip at Dreamland Margate was pretty epic last night. Good energy, amazing lighting and sound. Really didn’t disappoint. It was so good to be back at a live gig! Did anyone watch the stream? I heard there were some technical issues for some people. Would love to watch it again today. Would love to watch it again today. I watched it and was very jealous! Few posts about it in the Hot Chip thread. Actually made me really emotional! No problems with the stream. After the gig was over I actually left it on a bit just listening to the crowd noise and pretending I was at a festival. What a loser!

If this is the new normal then there is not much hope for the future.

Did you downvote me for saying the word epic or because you don’t like Hot Chip? People were up and dancing and we had a good time. I'll be trying to get tickets for that for sure. I've got an inkling that something big might happen at The Windmill this Friday/Saturday. There's nothing in their calendar for those two nights and last Saturday they announced a Black Midi show at the last minute, with them referred to as the 'house band'. Keep your eyes peeled! Dancers Stand Very Still
Tried for tickets to Baxter Dury and Orlando Weeks, but they were tables of 2/4/6. I know I said before that it was fair enough if that's the only way that venues could put things on, but I had no idea that was going to be the case for this gig until the sales opened at 11 and I feel pretty pissed about it! By 11:01, before I'd even had time to think about it, let alone try to convince anyone, the tables of 2 (which were in back corners of the vegnue anyway) had all gone. Of anyone has a spare seat on a table and doesn't mind sharing, I'll be keen to join.
zahidf
venues apparently given guidance that the 1 metre works nose to nose, which means 50% capacity

Dancers Stand Very Still
So, do we think that's it again for gigs from Monday? Or will socially distanced sit-down performances still be within the rules? It doesn't sound promising to me.
Zoo Music Girl
If they're not shutting pubs and restaurants I don't see why they would shut down socially distanced concerts.

Rest of the country the only change is the 6 people limit becomes law (so you can't go to the pub with more than 5 people). I'd assume the same for socially distanced gigs. I'd assume the same for socially distanced gigs. I mean countrywide. My reading of it, from what I've seen so far anyway, would put a cap on indoor gigs of 6 people: "Social gatherings of more than six people in England will not be allowed in law from Monday 14 September. The new rule applies to people in private homes, indoors and outdoors, and places such as pubs, restaurants, cafes and public outdoor spaces." I appreciate places like The Windmill have been letting in 30 people (from more than two households) though, so will that have to change to 6, or is there no change as those people are not deemed to be socialising with others outside of who they came with? I assume the latter from that you're saying, as must've been the case before? I mean we all know it's not true and can't be in a pub, even if you try to keep somewhat apart, but presumably that's the letter of the law.
