Chubby Dude in a Tiny Car
aside from back when the coach station used to be at the top of the hill and you had to walk through the village (i think - i remember having to walk miles down hill through a village that i guess must have been Pilton) to get to the festival - i've never actually been to Pilton. if we manage to get ourselves there a little early would it be possible to have a wander around the village, maybe have a pint in The Crown and then walk back up the main road to the entrance? or is everything blocked off and really just should get ourselves straight to red gate? i also found a bus route, 669 i think, that goes from Glastonbury Town to Pilton, should this be running as normal tomorrow? ? deebeedoobee
The Crown opens at 6pm in the evening. It opens at lunchtime too but closes for the afternoon. Of course the village is open. Everything is back to normal here. You can walk from the Crown down Shop Lane to the stile that will lead you past the tithe barn and down into the farm. From here you can turn right and down to red gate to enter the party. I wouldn’t suggest walking from the village down the main road to red gate. It’s not got a pavement.

Orac1971
Can someone please advise. So google maps for Glastonbury red gate and that’s where the car park is? I presume I can park up quite early? 3.30pm?

Oh and the bus will run as normal. There is a free shuttle bus to the event but I don’t know when that starts/finishes.

deebeedoobee
Unfortunately the weather is not looking so chipper tomorrow. A soggy run will be had before an evening of watery beer.
