Whose going?

So me and a few others have taken the plunge. We are relatively pampered sorts who do Glastonbury and Greenman but this year we’re going far from home (4 1/2 hours to be exact).

Have many questions but let’s start with whose looking forward to what? As a Welshman Tom Jones impregnating the crowd will be a hoot

Cant wait to see Sea Girls. Red Rum Club are great fun, and Arkells have been a great discovery. Of the bigger acts, I'd say IDLES, Manics and Courteeners are the ones I most want to see. I've still got a bunch of stuff to try from the undercard.

I'll probably post a detailed list when I'm done.

Yeah first time for me and my gang.

Will probably be mostly mooching around the smaller stages:

Calva Louise, Rascalton, Queen Zee, Black Futures, Red Rum Club, Dream Wife, Zuzu, Hands off Gretal and Billy Mitchell are my top picks - throwing in a bit of Idles and Tom Jones too.  Will 100% be avoiding Walt Disco

Minus Tim burgess and I’m all over that list ! We just need a decent year of weather we deserve it !

So weather has not been great in recent years then? It’s a trip down nostalgia memory lane for me as listened to maniacs, badly drawn boy, Gomez and the doves in my university days.  Lots of things to catch up on so thanks for that.

What’s the beer like? I see it has its own festival but does this extend to bars by the stages?

It will rain.

Couple of real ale tents that are slightly cheaper than the lager bars that line the main arena and have loads of choice.

2 minute walk up the hill from the back of the arena, next to chai wallahs.

After missing out on Glastonbury tickets, I'm back at Kendal for the first time since 2016, and really looking forward to it! Plenty of friends going and always good fun.

It sounds to me like quite a few people who have posted in here would enjoy Our Fold, who have been going a while but just brought out their debut album.

Think Courteeners via James with a Foo Fighters big sound.

I think they'll be on in the afternoon on the House Party stage. :)

Manics were big faves of mine growing up thanks to my sister, but I haven't seen them for ten years somehow!

Also quite looking forward to Orbital, Big Moon, Our Girl, Dream Wife, Joy Formidable, Queen Zee, Jeramiah Ferrari,  Idles/Doves clash is a bugger,

Git everything bar the actual tickets so far, will get some of twickets the week or so before I think (hope!)

That’s where I got mine yesterday mate. I have to work on the Friday this year so was looking to save a couple of quid.

Hopefully see you in those fields ?

I have no interest in anything on the line up. Just attending for the banter and hopefully some late night techno

    • Saw David Gray 8 times between 2000 and 2025 (including one solo acoustic performance in Wexford, IE, 2017) and he always delivered. I enjoyed every show, never felt bland or let down an iota. To each their own. Yeah, it’s just that he’s not your cup of tea I’m afraid.   Agree that David is a bad dancer though lol.
    • Its massively bonkers the cost now amd it means missing out on some gigs but buying into only promotes it. Im more annoyed at gigs that are cheap that I have to resist as I'm far too tired after work.
    • Yeah I mean first time seeing them sure, I was the same in 2010. Their arena tour got a bit boring, it was like just get on with it. Feeder being in a tent was silly really, there is a difference between being around 4th down on main stage snd then moving that crowd into a tent.
