yehbutnobut
5 timer, and I'm still yet to get my name on a list to get a massage up in the healing fields, as everything's always fully booked. My lower back's been a bit shit as of late, so a firm seeing to wouldnt go a miss during the fest. Anyone have any tips to guarantee a spot, and is there somewhere online I could pre-book? tarw
Hi Tia. I’ve alway just turned up and waited in a queue for the big communal massage tents. There’s about 8 massages going on at a time and you just get the next available one. I think if you want a particular type or person to do it you can just go to their tent and book it. Try going as soon as you can find something you like the sound of and ask if you can book
Zoo Music Girl
Yeah I've always just waited in an unofficial queue as well. Love me a massage, was a Thursday tradition for years. Think last time might be the first time I didn't get one actually. I've never written my name on a list, you just need to be prepared to sit and wait for a bit. Lovely place to chill out though. The other Bellboy
Is there only the 1 place in the healing fields? It would be great to get a massage on the Wednesday, might make this one of the first stops and see about the waiting / booking thing
Gedh
There are loads of places to get a massage in small individual tents and there is a huge communal one where massage is paid for by donation.

H.M.V
Personally if your back is that bad I'd be more inclined to see someone a bit more specialised. I love a good massage but sometimes I can end up feeling worse cos of underlying problems that need a more considered approach. I have a specific therapist locally who works with Olympics and is an athlete herself so knows the body mechanics. If it's not too bad then as above. Queue for a good pummeling. ? DesperateDad
My back went in ‘17 (I was there too before anyone asks!) I got my name on an Osteopath’s list & headed up to the healing fields whilst Liam played on OS on the Saturday afternoon. The guy did some fantastic manipulation on me after identifying what was going wrong. The discretionary donation was well worth money as the immediate relief meant my festival was back on track. Fearless_Fish
So are these proper sports injuries massages, or ones where they waft incense in your face? is there a “recommended “ donation amount..?

They actually vary quite a lot from tent to tent. A lot of places do a "rucksack massage" so shoulders and back etc, or you can get your feet done, your head, different types of specialist shiatsu, osteopaths... best thing to do is go along and have a look and ask people. It's a lovely space for a wander and a chill anyway. As @H.M.V says I would avoid if you have serious chronic conditions to be on the safe side, but I am lucky enough not to. Saying that my mate with sciatica went one year and had a great one. I guess it just depends. I used to pay around 15 to 20 quid for about half an hour I think. Which is not bad at all. The one I always used to see (pretty much every year!) would tell you how much people usually give to give you some idea. Missed out on going last year so will try to do this Thurs I reckon. Or maybe even Sat as my day is quite empty currently. I'm intrigued by Humble Well this year. Massages going on there, plus loads of lovely relaxation yoga stuff. Well up for that as a recent yoga convert. Think that could do me the world of good when flagging. I donated 20 notes for a good half hour of osteopathy, well worth it.
Charm
I’m a qualified massage therapist and don't recommend a massage at Glastonbury to anyone who has a long term health condition, any therapist worth going to would want to see a doctors letter before working on you.
