SE Corner

We’ve never made it to the SE Corner since the one way system has been in operation, due to the crowds and having young kids in tow. However I’m really curious and I’ve been wondering whether it’s worth a stroll around during the day? Anything happening and whether we can take the kids in? We are used to carting them around in a buggy / trolley / some sort of wheeled contraption and that is fine for the larger stages late at night, but would that be a complete no go at nighttime for the SE Corner? They sleep through everything and I’d wager they would sleep trough an earthquake, so it’s just the crowds that concern me.

Yes can walk through the area with kids - obviously best during the day when it is quieter. Never been in at night with kids. When Craig Charles played for 4 hours in the afternoon it was great fun and our child loved it.

We went to see beans on toast one late afternoon/early evening (2015 I think) it got really busy, was worried we would be able to get out with the cart etc. Child was fine, just the parents who were panicking a bit. Turns out no need as like all my glasto experiences, people are pretty kind and helpful.

we will definitely be having a walk through at some point during the day - hopefully when something/one we want to see is on

Day time it is open and easy to stroll around. Not everything is going though. If you want more of an experience (and what I did when I took mine many years ago) Go when the headliner is about to come on or just before. Plenty going on then and you get the whole feel of the place with out the madness of thousands more people. We left just as everyone else were pouring in.

Great night with my kids that was. They still remember bits. And some very memorable photos.

I took my son to Block 9 and The Common and we danced earlyish Friday evening in 2017. We loved it and had a great dance together. He asked me this year if he was old enough for NYC Downlow yet ? (He's 11). I went to a few Glastos without him, but one of the many things that inspired me to take him eventually was the sight of a load of young children - from toddlers to aged about 8 dancing at Block 9 with their parents at about 8pm one evening. They were having the best time. I would say you need to be out of there by 10, possibly earlier, but you will get a feel for it as the night descends and it's quickly time for the young uns to go. You will be alright in there with your trolley until about 8-ish. I'm not sure about later than that. Also depends who's on. If a big DJ is on there, perhaps not. I would also say Thursday evening is a no-go as people are hyped and looking for somewhere to go dance and the S.E Corner is busy as the venues all start to open, but a stroll up there mid evening Friday or Saturday could work. Do check line-up times for potential large crowds. Get yourself close-ish to the exit point when if you're still up there when the one way system kicks in, then you know you can get swiftly out of there. Hope it's marvellous ?
