It's obviously Pukkelpop he's referring too, Eppo's a big fan and would never give them to the Lokerse Feesten. Hope they are not headlining though, because I'd like some other big names. But seeing who's headlined in the past few years, I think they will. Would go watch regardless. The National into The War on Drugs in 2014 is still one of my favourite PKP nights.

I hope we get Frank Ocean too, and Arcuse seems to believe he could be booked (he mentioned on another site).

Another certain name is Brockhampton I think. They were announced for some fest in Norway that's in the same weekend. A big hype sure, but I really like them. They remind me a lot of Odd Future. Releasing their third album already this year in 2 weeks, so they should have enough material to play :D.

That was referring to this year (2017). :)  But with a new album coming up and his recent statements 'that 2018 is going to be a lot better than 2017', who knows..

I think just like last year and the most recent years aswell, I think they're going to choose safe headliners that are gonna move a good chunk of tickets but not something crazy. I saw in the R&L-topic already a good amount of suggestions but these are the ones where I'm thinking of right now (as big names on the lineup): Arcade Fire, Imagine Dragons, Florence + The Machine, Arctic Monkeys, The National, Macklemore, The War On Drugs, Royal Blood, Twenty One Pilots, The 1975, The Libertines, Bonobo...

Haven Festival (9.11/08) released a teaser for an announcement on thursday, and... the very beginning and very end of the video clearly suggest Arcade Fire.

Fingers crossed. Can see TWOD subbing for them if AF are announced.

Ive not logged onto efests since the day before this years PKP, my predicitions from a few weeks ago were

Killers - Arcade Fire - Depeche Mode

Can see DM in the marquee, I'd love it if Morrissey were there though and an undercard must have act for me this year is Fever Ray.

Depeche Mode won't be playing the Marquee if they play Pukkelpop.

Haven festival in Denmark, taking place in the weekend prior to Pukkelpop, has released its initial lineup:

Looks promising for Pukkelpop. I'd take most of them. Just hope that AF don't get booked for Summer Sonic in Japan on the same weekend.

I really hope Justice appear, Prodigy are about due to their new album coming out and Prydz could make up for his canceled slot?

Anyone think Chvrches could play too, they hinted heavily at more dates tba on their Facebook post announcing TRNSMT.

Always a chance the Prodigy will turn up, although there are a lot more cheaper options for a closer than them. I'd prefer Justice tbh. Think maybe that the Eric Prydz ship may have sailed with him cancelling for without much of a reason (I could be wrong) a couple of years ago.

Seen that Patti Smith was confirmed last month for Oya - wouldn't mind seeing her in the Marquee.

At least Justice won't be in Japan over Pukkelpop as they were there last year. Same goes for Phoenix, Kasabian and Royal Blood, all of whom I'd love at PP.  Does leave the door open for the Foos as well - they have a August sized gap in their touring schedule and haven't played PP or Reading & Leeds in what will be 6 years - not sure if the Belgian and UK tour dates rule them out but I think they're popular enough to do both without affecting ticket sales too much.

Calvin Harris can fuck off though.

    • Yesterday was another brilliant day of music for me. Some highlights:  My Bloody Valentine - absolutely loved it! Maybe my main festival highlight. I felt submerged in the music with all the layers and distortion. It becomes hypnotic almost as it progresses. Not as loud as some thought it might be, but it didn’t need to be. The visuals added a lot too. During the noise part of You Made me Realise, I was basically in a trance staring at the visual tunnel or whatever it was on screen. Amazing experience. Little Simz - as she mentioned at the start, you’re guaranteed a good time with her. Great performance just like in 2022. Zero complaints. The little DJ section wasn't something I expected but was cool. Kneecap - I had a blast but at this point in the night I was at my most intoxicated let's say, so I don’t remember it as clearly as I'd have liked to!    The xx - The sound for this was perfectly balanced (at least where I was) and the band were great. Lots of talkers, but with the crowd size and being kind of far back, it's to be expected. Intro was one of my favourite moments this year. Big Thief - really good live performers. The lead singer has a lovely voice. This was a nice chill way to kick off the mordor gigs for me.
    • I've been attending Primavera every year since my first one in 2017 & it's always been my favourite week of the year, but I think things have changed.   Firstly, the site just feels too busy in this current set-up. I'm sure it was a lot easier back in 2017-19 to get between the stages & then a good spot for the next one, but now you increasingly have to sacrifice parts of a set or miss them out completely to plan for later on. I wish we still had the Bits area over the bridge to spread everyone out.   But the main issue is the talking, it's always been here but this year it's been relentless & I just can't tolerate it any more. It's at every stage, and everywhere from the front to the back, there is no escape. Not focusing on nationalities, but a major dynamic now seems to be groups of people who are only focusing on their own good time & aren't interested if this affects anyone else. It seems essential that all members of the group are together at the same time, so it's people making telephone calls, people on shoulders waving phone torches, people barging through. It's alright, I'm only trying to watch The Cure here.   I will have a year away to think about it. I thought might give up completely but yesterday was a bit of a classic day after two unenjoyable ones. Adding Olivia Rodrigo to Baxter Dury, Gelli Haha, The XX, Gorillaz & Kneecap shows how good it can be, but as with everything, it's always the people that have the biggest impact.
