Queing Overnight - needed?

Due to difficulties of meeting up with my mate, we will be sleeping in the car park over night. This is also a reaction to queuing for 9 hours last year which was just as tiring as a crap night sleep. 

We aren't bothered by the queue so will be joining it around 6/7am

As far as I am aware it's always the designated time due to the licence.

Didn't they open earlier last year, rumour being that Michael did it so there were too many people on site to cancel it?

Personally I couldn't do the overnight queue, I'd be wrecked, but I appreciate those who do because it means by 10/11am you can walk straight in!

Oddly, I had a great time in the queue last year. Joined the queue and got sat down, the heavens opened for the rest of the night. Put the waterproofs on, had a few beers, a couple of naps, bit of banter with friends - good night.

 

Got a couple of hours sleep the following early afternoon and felt right as rain.

Decided I couldn't hack an overnight in the car park and booked a B&B near cheddar gorge somewhere.  Was planning on up at 6 and over to site but having read this I think I will snooze a bit longer, have the full english breakfast and get to site between 9-10.  Not sure where camping, but only one tent to fit in so may as well arrive refreshed and then hit the beer!

Really appreciate the comments on this thread, awesome...   Think I will leave the ivory coast of Wales say 4am arrive 6.. at least I will get say 5hrs kip before hand (if I can fight off the excitement insomnia demon  )
