I believe somebody on here met Guy Garvey and asked if they were playing Glastonbury and he hinted that they were. Only available on the Friday and haven't yet been announced, so if they are in fact playing it looks like it's either Other opener or possibly a secret act on the Park. But that's all we're basing it on I think (maybe there was more to it than that?) and it may end up being bollocks.

Ah right thanks for the concise summing up that all makes sense

I was quite surprised they weren't on the original poster given the new album

other stage opener would be perfect for me so I wouldn't have to worry about clashes

Thanks mate.I thought that the TBA was usually 11:00am but someone said it was 10am. So no TBA opener this year but a few more scattered across the rest of the lineup?

Dental suggested at one point that there wouldn't be one because they've got a special act opening the Pyramid and it'd be silly to have a special guest opening Other at the same time drawing people away from it. I guess that ended up being correct.

I see cheers - that would make sense. Looking forward to the Hacienda Classical so would've been annoying if someone good was in that slot.

Obviously they are otherwise they wouldn't still be about , just not really my cup of tea. More room for you to dance whilst I'm not there though, swings and roundabouts ;)

Ha well I'll be at the pyramid raving me tits off to the classical. Not missing that for the world.

It is a very annoying clash. First bloody thing on Friday too. :-o

This. Possibly most annoying clash of the weekend.

The Pretenders are a fucking great band. more accomplished and respected than anyone else on Other Friday bill. what an insult.

No need to swear potty mouth, hardly an insult. Who are you Chrissie Hynde's grandson? If so could you have her log into efests so she knows I'm not insulting her band. I only meant as to whether there was anybody I personally would like to see over Hacienda Classical.

Enjoy the festival tevaburger.

    • Sam Fender, Harry Styles, Sabrina Carpenter is a very bland set of headliners. Commercially successful and makes plenty of sense, but it wouldn't be very inspirising. That said I want a band like Green Day to headline so who am I to say what exciting is.
    • Potentially rogue shout here but could see Rebecca Black in the running for a mid-afternoon spot. I know most people still remember her for Friday but lately she’s been putting out a lot of fun pop bangers, think this could be a very fun booking!
    • FFS why when there are pull outs does it always include so many of the names I had as must sees!
    • This is a pretty petulant stance.   I oppose him headlining because I love coming to Slam Dunk and he would be a very big reason why I wouldn't come. That doesn't mean they can't choose to do so, they obviously can, I would just stop coming to that version of Slam Dunk.   Another name that I'll throw out there as name I'd love is Biffy Clyro.
    • There is possibly a weak link in the ticket buying system, no matter how clever the technical controls get. I just spent 20 minutes this morning hammering the ‘Buy Tickets’ button while the web page kept telling me there weren’t enough tickets remaining to meet my request. Eventually it changed its mind and let me buy two tickets. Most likely because of failed payments in the queue ahead of me. So - just like it did in the good old F5 days - pig-headed blind persistence can sometimes pay off.   BTW, the tickets were for the Whispering Bob Harris evening in the Albert Hall on 2nd December.
