David Bowie

So I was chatting to a friend about the Glastonbury sale/the festival in general, when he just casually dropped into the conversation that a friend of his apparently knows the Eavi.
He then claimed that David Bowie was apparently all signed up and confirmed to play the Legends slot last year before he died.

Now, I know it's not really important any more.. and I rarely believe these friend-of-a-friend stories anyway, but it intrigued me somewhat. So, I was just wondering if anyone else heard anything similar at all? Obviously i'm taking it with a huge pinch of salt but i'd be interested to know if there's any truth at all in it...

I don't believe it at all. Bowie had been ill for 18 months with cancer and had signed off playing live a long time before that. There's no way he would have signed up to play a slot which had been occupied by Lionel Ritchie (with all due respect) the previous year. Especially when his own life expectancy was so limited.

Sadly....I'm in this camp.

Quite possibly the biggest lie ever posted on these forums. Congratulations

:) not only that, but also the most useless.

The posts that say things like "Oasis is headlining this year. My friend knows." at least would have some impact on the real world in the unlikely event that they turned out to be true.

    • I honestly didn't know it had, I still thought it was where the view overlooked the lake and view.   I think my decision not to attend this year at least was justified. Biffy was the big draw but after Finsbury I knew they wouldn't play what I want to hear again and well work also got in the way. Believed interesting to hear if Libertines were any good as they were also a pull but Sunday did nothing for me really with all my acts on Friday and Saturday.

    • Knocked Loose have been announced for Wacken, that's them at Bloodstock as well   I think they'd headline over Malev
    • I hate tradmill running with a passion lol. Yeah the 1km reps are the one along with hill reps. That's what I did last time.  It's very a very hot summer and job circumstances to stay at the consistent level I was for the marathon earlier in the year. I've got a full set of the main distance new PBs this year. 10k isn't a problem most days but even today I went out deciding just over 5 mile was enough between recovery cruise and steady.
    • There is also a solid argument from Seventeen already that not enough people actually care if they book them also.
