I have a good walkabout looking for new tents that have been left I make sure everything is there and nothing is broken before I take It down , then at home I put it up clean it , happy days

But, I wouldn't want to just help myself to something even if it had clearly been left behind - it would feel like stealing. I'd far rather quietly come to an arrangement with someone beforehand. 

At least I've got a year to think about it - pending tickets, of course.

(Thanks for the tip about long-drop hooks, BTW. I just used to keep my rucksack on when using the facilities but this tip was very helpful)

Better off taking a new tent or 2 home as everything just goes to land fill , it's not stealing of its been left , you. Can usually tell which tents have been left , I have seen some cracking tents that I wanted to take home until I looked inside and found that the previous owner had used it as a toilet before they left , stay late on the Monday after the festival and you will be able to get all the camping gear you need for future festivals for free , my wife asked somebody if they was leaving their tent as they was packing 1 year , they said yes so she started taking it down while they was packing their stuff up,

As I come by bus I cannot bring home any additional stuff, though I did pick up about 15 extra pegs in my field, which are always useful.

I don't like being the dickhead who always does this but 500 x £225 (cost of a ticket) = £112500, enough for 15000 hours of litter picking, or 90 litter pickers working for 20 days (one month) at 8 hours a day.

Of course you could just do guaranteed tickets instead of free ones but it'd be very open to abuse.

Curtis Barnes I dont understand why they're complaining if they chose the job to work there and obviously they know what there getting themselves into, it's happend for years most likey before they were born, why are they complaining about clearing it up and making money. Lazy is the only word that comes to mind. If you dont like it dont work there hahah simples.

Not sure how it'd work, but a free pass on T-Day would be absolutely amazing.  You can't put a price on removing that kind of stress from your life!

Little do they know that I'm not actually there to clean it up.  I set things up and serve the public cocktails.  I was just killing time due to the traffic issues.

Easier way would be to have a few stewards at each exit, show them you are carrying your tent out and be given a raffle ticket. Even a lower figure like 1 lot of 6 tickets per gate would encourage a few to make the effort. Everyone cartying a tent out has a chance to win tickets for there group.
