We're taking a hire car that needs to be back in Glasgow for 19.30 on Monday night,  time should we be leaving?

Bus left Glastonbury last year at 10:30 was back at George Sq at 9:00pm, with two stops on a bus, you'll be alright leaving st a reasonable time

I don't normally leave until 2 or 3pm.  You're pretty safe leaving your tent up and unattended until about midday, but I'd have at least on person hanging around after that.  There are certainly more tatters on site in the afternoon, and to be fair, who can blame them with all the stuff that's left.  However,  I personally haven't seen any tatters unzipping tents though - most are decent scavengers looking for obviously abandoned stuff like booze, food, gear, etc.

Probably best to on the safe side though.

When I wake up on the Monday at any festival, the first through is "run way! Run away!" Do you not find the Monday morning the most depressing place in the world? The stages are already half down, there's rubbish everywhere and loads of f@cked looking  people. Time to get home!

When you leave from the pink carparks you have to follow a fixed route away from the festival but it takes you south away from the site even though I live up north!! By default if I program my sat-nav to home it will send me on the most direct route to the M5 which will take me back into Glastonbury town via the A39 which on Monday is one long traffic jam :(

By aiming for Cheddar you get far enough away from the festival traffic so when following signs to The M5 you join at j21 and avoiding the A38 north which takes you through the middle of Bristol.

It might not be the most perfect route but it has worked for me

Super, will bear this in mind. Thanks a mill.

So long as you still have a wristband on the gates are open (no need for a ticket or pass out)

i normally do two trips and if the carparks are queuing I'd go back on site for a brew and nibbles before hitting the road

I think it's 5pm when they kick you out (enough time to sleep if you've been raving till 6am)

thanks, we'll try and avoid people but if we get kicked out at 5 then so be it, still a full long weekend

I consider Monday still part of the festival and take my time. As others have mentioned, it is hard to predict. I come by public transport and remember it once took four hours just to get to Bristol. Nearly missed my flight. That was in the days you could bring luggage on planes without having to pay an arm and a leg. Nowadays I come by ferry. Just have to make it to Holyhead by midnight!
