Nasty - thankfully I do not have Colitis. That is one thing they have ruled out........ but what is up with my digestive system is a mystery, seeing two consultants and nobody seems to know! I just feel shit the next day if I over do it!

Matt pm me and let me know what your symptoms are and what they have done so far.

I am pretty clued up on stuff like this unfortunately, for obvious reasons.

A kind offer, I may get around to it.......... but then I may forget especially as I am busy downloading loads of new music.

Sadly I am also reasonably clued up as all my hassles started in 2005 when I got serious food poisoning - and they never found out what it actually was but it still lives inside me!!

I am my own worst enemy though, I know things I should avoid but to hell with that sometimes, life is too short!!

Right Ben, TEINACDP, brilliant, I'm hooked.

Bugger me, that was quick! They are fabulous, mind.

They're often derided by hipster post-rock/experimental fans as too 'formulaic'. However, it's bloody fine to be formulaic if you invented the formula and execute that particular formula better than anyone else. Which they do! Are they the 'best' post-rock band? IMO, no. Are they the best post-rock band that plays that type of post-rock? Yup!

Welcome to the family, Swedge.

:)

No worries mate. Stupid question this but have you had the cameras? I have to have them once a year now to see what is going on. I am due again over the next few weeks, just got to go give them some blood samples first.

With me, once it starts it is very difficult to stop. I just lose blood none stop and can't get off the loo. It has put me in hospital a few times now. It is what it is though, you just learn to get by with it.

Thats why I dance till I drop. I know my festival is just one trip to the loo from being over. I am not allowed to use Imodium or any form of Loperamide, in case I have a flare up and it causes things inside to burst.

Generally I have been pretty much ok at festivals. To be fair though I leave the site each day to use a proper loo, get refreshed and give myself a break. It is fair to say though that I have paid the price once I have got home a few times.

I am 37 Matt. The problem I have is my digestive system. I have pretty severe colitis. My guts just can't handle it anymore and a festival is a sure bet to set me off.

Liking the middle aged man digestive health turn this thread has taken.  45 here, gave up going for the never ending bouts of tests followed by confused looking consultants or GPs who can only suggest more tests which lasted 3 years in total, never coming to any conclusion.  I've just resigned myself to the fact that many middle aged men reach a point in life where their guts can't handle what they used to and if you don't adapt you'll suffer for it.

I'm happy, my son is happy, I just hope my friend I'm trying for a ticket in the resale is going to be happy.  It's her first time and I really want her to have the best time and fall in love with the place like the good folk of this forum.

Had the cameras and am due to have them again to check for something else I am now told!!

I understand about paying the price - but as you rightly say it is a price worth paying. Life is too flipping short.

Middle aged!!! I am young I tell you........................................ well I act as though I am young then the body reminds me I am over 50.

but yes, tests tests and more tests and no conclusions...... I have been given medication that I was later told was actually making things worse and I should stop immediately - when I stopped some things got better!!!!!!!!

Of Monsters and Men

The happiest moment of the poster reveal for me!  They are fantastic live, a real feel good gig is guaranteed.  Their videos are also really good when you are tripping balls.  I of the storm is possibly one of the best pop songs I ever heard.

Yesterday I had a listen to;

1. Explosions in the Sky

2. Kurt Vile

3. Floating Points

4. UMO

The order above is my order of preference. Was surprised how much I enjoyed EITS, the description on their wiki didn't really sell me on them but I was bowled over by The Earth In Not A Cold Dead Place. Definitely going to give them another listen today. Kurt Vile was less of a surprise as that's the kinda thing I'd listen to anyway, he'd just passed me by for some reason, 'b'lieve i'm going down' is a cracking record.

Floating Points and UMO were both absolutely fine but I didn't enjoy them as much as the previous two. They probably both fall into the category of 'I'm in nearby where they're playing I'll head along for a listen' as opposed to actively looking to see them.

On the menu today are Vince Staples, Bat For Lashes and Mac DeMarco

    • My understanding is that the queues returning back to the UK will be much worse (up to two hours) but the queue entering Lisbon isn’t so bad. That’s just from reading a few forum posts about it though so take it with a pinch of salt!

    • World Cup 2026: What is happening with ticket prices? - BBC Sport   Sounds like Infantino has been learning from his buddy if he's running around claiming its all sold out while quietly dumping tickets below face on assorted secondary websites.
    • Mac DeMarco also cancelled
    • I'm British so it very much would apply for me.   I mean, it's a moot point as I don't have tickets so will not be in town for this, but I've heard reports of lengthy queues and given I remember Lisbon Airport having a long queue at arrivals even pre-EES when I went in 2023, I seem to guess it might be quite the wait, depending on flight paths.   Certainly, the worst I've had pre-EES was a 45 minute wait for a stamp at Valencia Airport in Spain, where 4 flights to non-EU destinations in quick succession were placed one after the other. So I can't say I'm enthusiastic about what's in store. Or you know. Maybe I'm just overthinking it.
