ilbeyene
Saw them at Sziget 2012. Brilliant.
StephenF
Looks like the stone roses are playing 3shows only. Not ps.
DDave
Looks like the stone roses are playing 3shows only. Not ps.No way will they only play 3 shows. They'll be at least one more day added to the Manchester dates if the demand is there. They'll play either PS or Beni I reckon.
DanielM17
Thinking about it, Beni seems more likely.
DDave
It's the right fit for the crowd, the dates and probably the cash. I can only hope the lure of Barcelona for which the band have an affinity for will be the difference. That said they are playing Citys ground so I don't hold out much hope. Fingers crossed all the same.

StephenF
Beni would suit them better, as much as they are lauded within the "indie/whatever" crowd they are a LADS band. Beni is for the lads. LCD, Cure, Husker Du would be nice, I think Elvis Costello is a guarantee as well.....but lets face it; two of those bands aren't even together. DanielM17
Yeah any band that has a 10 on Pitchfork can play Primavera haha.
DDave
Yeah any band that has a 10 on Pitchfork can play Primavera haha. And that kind of crowd doesn't necessarily travel with them. Saw them in Belgium in 2012 and the crowd was fine.
DanielM17
And that kind of crowd doesn't necessarily travel with them. Saw them in Belgium in 2012 and the crowd was fine.Yeah I'd imagine that is mainly a British (or specifically English) thing.

DanielM17
Would be but there are a lot of questionable ones there. Bowie won't play, Swans played last year, do Sabbath suit Primavera? Husker Du and The Last Shadow Puppets need to get back together, and Kendrick headlined in 2014. Take out all of those and add maybe New Order and one or two other acts like Frank Ocean or PJ Harvey and I think that is a likely lineup.p.s. I am not even gonna mention Radiohead for fear of jinxing things or getting my hopes up. Edited November 3, 2015 by DanielM17
Noeliam
The Last Shadow Puppets will have a new album out by 2016 festival season I reckon!

DanielM17
Thought we'd definitely get someone announced tonight Same here. Very surprised/disappointed.
dentalplan
I was expecting them to let the early bird sales pass then announce someone shortly after to capitalise on the higher ticket prices. There wouldn't really be much point in leaving it to the last day to announce a headliner or something would there? Still expecting someone at the end of this week; probably announced via a poster or something.
DanielM17
In recent years they have released the first headliner in the days running up to the November increase.
StephenF
Hopefully we will get something tomorrow!
DDave
Maybe with the all stars thing they maybe splashing out a bit on the line up and are confident that tickets will sell well anyway?
DanielM17
Possibly. I don't really know what the All Stars thing means tbh.
StephenF
Assuming that Elvis Costello is a dead cert (his Spanish tour dates almost make it an inevitability) he could be one of the second headliners....it's possible that who ever they have booked as actual top tier headliners are costing muchos €'s and primavera are therefore needing to sell at the higher bracket to recoup the cost? IIRC they have ALWAYS announced just prior to the increase? It's likely now a matter of thinking who is demanding the big bucks? Hopefully this means Radiohead or Yeezy? StephenF
http://www.nme.com/news/radiohead/89047# its entirely possible they are waiting for the green light from these guys? And if LCD are playing they may have to wait for Coachella to have the grand reveal before PS can announce.....I'm looking to much into all of this
