Primavera Sound 2016

Looks very likely :( not that fussed on Elvis Costello. Thinking of the headliners in 2013/14 MBV, Blur, Neutral Milk Hotel, Arcade Fire, Slint, Phoenix, The Knife, Nick Cave.....but it's really all about the undercard isn't it? I've gotten to see Mineral, Perfume Genius, Dismemberment Plan, Superchunk, Senores, cloud nothings, ought etc etc etc. It's the undercard that keeps me coming back :)

Would adore it in every way but it's too good. Radiohead it is hard to know, Portishead don't seem keen on playing live lately, and LCD probs won't get back together.

Buzz over here is that the LCD reunion is a done deal--they'll be headlining Coachella and the new Panorama festival in NYC (put on by the same people that put on Coachella). After Consequence of Sound ran the reunion story, the record label vehemently denied it on twitter. Soon after, the twitter feed was blocked and all went silent. James never came out and denied it either.

Also, didn't Portishead do a few festivals this summer?

Did they not just do Latitude? I'm sure I heard that Lati really had to convince them to do a show cause they are kinda toning the whole thing down.

Interesting on LCD, if they play anywhere in mainland Europe I can see it being Primavera, in that case.

I'd love to have a lineup like that. And I don't think that a lineup can be "too good to be true". Look at Primavera 2014, there were 5-6 headliners in 3 days (QOTSA, Arcade Fire, The National, Neutral Milk Hotel, Nine Inch Nails, Kendrick Lamar). Anyway I just think it's too early to be real :(

Even with headliners less epic than Radiohead and LCD I'd be really quite up for that. Great lineup, hope it is close to the real thing.

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
