mhm
Kasabian Tame Impala / Kendrick Lamar RATM I know I may sound a little bit deluded with Tame/Kendrick, but I just thought that'd be a decent balance of genres that could headline R&L. I think the album's great too, behind OK Computer, Kid A and In Rainbows at the moment, but I'm sure it'll get better with every listen. Seeing them at Roundhouse next week, can't wait. In terms of headlining, maybe. Probably not. I guess if they're subbing Adele / Special Guest slot at Glastonbury then they may be open to another UK fest in 2017? Gucci Piggy
Neil said he'd heard something today about them being the act that pulled out of headlining R&L this year. I can't see that being the case as I just don't think they'd be booked for R&L now; however, if it is, that probably increases the chance of them being there next year (though I still think other festivals are more likely). If the cure/strokes/pulp/pearl jam can headline reading them Radiohead easily can. I don't think The Cure or Pearl Jam would be booked now, and probably not Pulp either. The Strokes are completely different; they're massive amongst teenagers who still go to R&L; Radiohead aren't at all.

Wouldn't it decrease? They must have pulled out for a reason and it's not nixing a tour; which is the only reason I could think they'd delay a booking. I was guessing the reason would be it not fitting into how their schedule ended up or something but I dunno what they're doing around then. The reason I didn't think they'd play again is because I didn't think R&L would want them. If they did book them for this year then that negates what I thought and makes them playing again more likely. Maybe not next year but whenever they're available. Do Pearl Jam fans wanna go to a festival full of 16 year olds where they'd probably be preceded by You Me At Six and A Day To Remember? Or would they wait for their own dates? I couldn't see R&L completely changing the type of act they book for a day to appease Pearl Jam fans, either.
lightning1000
10C PJ fans would watch them pretty much anywhere. They'd most likely get a day ticket for reading and one for Leeds
dentalplan
I think that there's enough of a casual fanbase to have Pearl Jam rebooked, but also that it'd fall flat pretty quickly with all the kids that only know Ten expecting a hard rock gig. PastRecedes
I know this is pretty stupid and it 99.9999% won't happen but Prophets of Rage/SOAD coheadline

PJ heading Reading?....I very much doubt it. Download are more likely to have a sponsor leak PJ on a poster, Copping claim its fake because they fucked him off and announce the same poster with all the same bands but not them two days later. Just wouldn't feel right, not as a headline act anyway, SOAD would need to churn out a very succesful album now, been far too long since their last to justify a headline slot without it going massive

Their most recent live shows are getting great reviews and they've played Reading before in 2009. I agree that the current audience at R&L may not be best suited to Radiohead, but you can't say they're boring and would go down like a lead balloon because you've watched some videos of them on youtube. The Ghost Of Eddie
Don't think they would go down well, doubt much of the current crowd listens to them, not much beyond Creep anyway.
JSmurphy
Radiohead were stunning at Roundhouse a few weeks ago. No energy in their live performances? - total rubbish.
oneoftherest
I don't think Radiohead would do R+L anymore, if they're anywhere next year, I'd expect a Glastonbury headline slot At the moment I'm going with Kasabian The Strokes Tame Impala with someone else as a coheadline (Kendrick is a good shout, maybe even Chase and Status or some other kind of mainstream act)

Kasabian seen highly likely.
Foals/Disclosure
If Tame Impala release their 4th album after September, I can't see them headlining/co-headlining until 2018
jake.b.overton
Don't think we'll be seeing any co-headliners next year, at least I hope
