did it for Dolly last year too. Not security though, just people wearing the tops to appear like security because its wacky.

Don't quite get the point of these orchestrated 'flashmobs'. Just all looks a bit contrived.

Stage security have no brief to be chasing tent thieves. I think it was fun myself. Better than the old days of Stuart security bashing people in that we're trying to have fun.

Yeah but they wern't Stewart though - it was a performance; coreographed...

Are Stuart still involved....or have they all retired to enjoy the mountain of fags, booze and drugs they confiscated from festival goers...all legitimately of course...

Remember when some plummy performing arts student piped up on here a few years ago that she'd like to break a world record for the world's biggest flashmob up the Park hill and wanted volunteers, then Russy took her down in spectacular fashion?

You misunderstand I never suggested they were Stuart. Stuart are no longer involved with the festival at all. I am aware it was choreographed my Twitter was full of it. I jus thought it a nice representation of security compared with the old days.

I only saw it when I watched Lionels set again at home, I thought it was funny.  Can security not have a bit of fun too?

Obviously not :(

People seem to like them being moody uninvolved and not joining in. Sad really :(

I personally loved seeing it ( on the TV when I got back) it was great seeing them joining in.

Efests can be most odd.

A thread with a simple question gets turned into a negative moaning thread!!

Is there an efests equivalent of Godwin's Law? Only about moaning rather than Hitler references?

    • Another one from Sheffield DocFest this weekend, Earth Wind & Fire docu, directed by Questlove. Sensational archive footage, contributions from band members, family, plus a lot of very big fans (Stevie, Lionel, Flea, the Obamas) and a warts n all assessment of the genius / flawed human being that was Maurice White. Also, I never realised he started out as a jazz drummer with Ramsay Lewis. Well worth a watch.
    • In a 6,800-word Substack essay, external, the Clacton MP said "anti-white racism was embedded into the state", and that legislation aimed at equality was a form of "social cleansing"   .https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cdjkd4mp93zo   The privileged white c**t hasn’t got a clue what racism is.
    • BBC iPlayer: Will serve as the main hub for past sets, including both recent hits and iconic archival gems. [1, 2, 3] TV Broadcasts (BBC Two & BBC Three): The channels will air dedicated compilation shows. Leading up to the weekend, you can watch archive programming such as Glastonbury: 70s Legends, 80s Legends, and 90s Legends on BBC Two. [1] Radio & BBC Sounds: Pop-up Glastonbury radio stations on BBC Sounds will feature non-stop coverage, including exclusive mixes and huge sets from past years
    • Got HBO Max to watch football so watched One Battle After Another which is a great film and deserves its awards and then rewatched Magnolia and that is a flipping amazing film...so much in it. (also rewatching Angels In America series which is also amazing).
