We put stuff in separately for different days and just went and withdrew our bag for each day as we went along.

Now that IS clever! I normally use it as a cash machine - take out the bag, take out the cash I want, check bag back in - but it's a bit of a faff. Divvying the money into a separate bag for each day would make things much easier (and enforce budgeting!)

The lock-ups are oddly one of my favourite Glasto things. And it's so "Glastonbury".

Please note that if you put stuff in you have to take it out from the same lockup. Last year on the Saturday I managed to convince myself that I could withdraw my stuff from any lockup on the site. This did wear off after a while.

Can you use the lock-up as a cloakroom? I.e. drop a jacket off there, then pick it up later on when it gets cold. Or is that taking the mick?

Yeah, I've always done the same.  This year though I had enough cash to get through til Friday morning and then checked everything back out and felt secure leaving what was left stashed around the tent.

 

I'd considered dropping a change of clothes for night-time wear in a lockup fairly central, but never got around to it in the end.

You can leave the charity a tip if you feel guilty .

 

Don't forget that the lock-ups also have a handy supply of toilet rolls and they do the challenge wristbands too (there were queues at our lockup but it was for the wristbands and the lock-up users could just jump to the front).

This is great because you can pick up your challenge wristband, and securely lock away your passport or other ID at the same time.

I think it is a great idea to leave your evening supplies (more alcohol, extra layers of clothing) at the lock ups as long as it is a relatively central one.

The one in Silver Hayes definitely turned every thing around pretty quickly and the only time we queued was last thing on Sunday night when loads of people who were leaving after the Sunday. headliner were picking up their camping gear & luggage from there to head straight home.

The one that does seem to have fairly persistent queues in the one at the top of Dairy.

Great thread and some great ideas. Been going 8 times and never even thought of using them! The rucksack and camping gear on the Sunday is a great call.
