Hang on....which one?

Did you write this morning something like "if you get this line-up and make the festival more expensive you have to respect people complaining and speech free" a guy called david wrote this and I thought it was you.

Now that comment is deleted, so it only can be seen by the person who wrote it. I can't see this post anymore. If you wrote it, try to look for the comment from other person facebook account.., You are the only person who can see the comment now because the Comunity Manager hid it.

I've seen other festivals do this on Facebook, like T in the Park, but not PKP. That might be down to the fact they haven't really received much criticism before.

I'm not defending what they've done but it would be PR suicide to enter into debate with people on the merits of the line up and whether it's value for money or not. You're never going to change someone's mind (unless you announce the bands they want) so trying to do so on social media is only going to end badly. At the very least the feedback has been received, even if it's been deleted/hidden, so they know how people feel. We'll just have to wait until the next announcement to see if it's had any impact and been acted upon.

I imagine they are trawling through their wish list emails to book the 25 bands I suggested right now.

I'm hoping on SYSTEM OF A DOWN headlining friday or saturday on Pukkelpop. Reasons why it could be possible :
1. System of a Down is a band again

2. They're touring again

3. They'll be releasing a new album (no release date yet) but probs fall 2015 or 2016.
4. Since PKP already has 2 nu metal headliners for thursday (Limp Bizkit and Linkin Park), why not System of a Down on another day?

System of a Down would be a perfect fit since this edition has loads of metal bands and that SOAD doesn't only have metal fans but an open fanbase. I'm sure SOAD would sell a sh*tload of tickets which would be a win for the organisators and a win for us.

That's not a win for me.

Perhaps we're all out of touch..

Indeed.

Congrats to Chokri for selling 50% of Combitickets without a saturday headliner and a invented headliner for friday. Young people want to party, they can afford 200€ and they don't care about the line-up. We want to listen good music and they want to have a party weekend with their friends... They realised that, they make a young clubs contest to make the line-up public in the poshest one, and make a cheap line-up targeted to adolescents and university students. It's legit but it's a pity the change of direction.

So basically the censoring meant "shut up people, we are selling out so your criticism is worthless".

But it's unbelievable how this is going to be a record breaking lineup... (current record for weekend tickets is 2 weeks). I'm glad that at least Dour brought some great names today, I won't even be sad about missing Pukkelpop I guess.

This of course is bad news for the line up. For the PP organisers, why spend more money on better bands when it's going to sell out anyway? Really doesn't bode well for the Saturday headliner now.

What about all the old people, why are they going? ;)

You're right, the best way to show Chokri and co. you're not happy is to take your custom elsewhere. Give your money to someone who you feel is more deserving of it. The Dour line up does look great, loads of interesting bands and DJs on offer.

Having reviewed Saturday again, it's decent. Give me someone to headline who is even half way acceptable and I'm happy.

I'm sticking with No Doubt for the time being though. Just watched one of their live shows from 2012 and it was pretty good. Stefani has a great voice and gives it loads on stage, I reckon it'd be decent.

About the lineup I remember Sziget in 2013, a year with a weaker lineup compared to previous years (2 hungarian headliners for the first 2 days and Mika who got a headlining spot because they couldn't find a headliner for that day.) Management never censored critical comments and even opened an "ask and answer" post for people who had questions relating the problems of that year's lineup. That's professional.

That year was a complete disaster for Sziget that went from 379.000 tickets sold in 2012 to 362.000. But with a great attitude, a great work and a better lineup 2014 was a record edition with 415.000 tickets sold and the sold out of the weekly passes. A bad year can happen. Sh*t happens. Pukkelpop's management should try to be even more professional in difficulties.

Thursday is officially sold out now. I guess that's what you get when you book a wishlist favourite who only played Belgium twice in the last 15 year. I sincerely hope combi tickets are only selling out of habit, and that Friday/Saturday are going like shit.

How many combis and how many day tickets are sold?

I was under the impression that it was 60,000 combis and 20,000 day tickets per day.

It's 65,000 a day so I reckon they sell 35,000 - 40,000 combi's and then the rest as day tickets. Kristof (who we had the meal with last year) said he thought they increased the number of day tickets last year as they are more profitable. This would explain why combi's seem to be selling quicker over the last few years.

    • Seems the addition of the Sun Stage area is interesting. Suspect this is the area where the Stage 4 used to be pre-2024. Looks as though they want to try create some space to keep people in amongst the arena post-headliners, rather than just crowds all descending back on the campsite entertainment at once.
    • 2000 Trees - 3 Day Tickets on Concert for Carers to buy (pair £15) sure they will not have them for long, I cant check if they are still available as it now says I have already bought tickets.
    • times and technology has changed , a pyramid headliner is often about the show thats put on as much as the music like it or not and as much as many would like to you cant really blame an artist for trying to get the best out of the set both for the audience in the field and for the cameras also .... Beyonce was 15 years ago
