I haven't had time to properly go through the line up yet but does anyone have any recommendations that are in the same category as Hybrid Minds/Fred V (liquid drum and bass).

Also, any recommendations for any trance artists that are along the same lines as Above and Beyond?

Cheers in advance.

Trance, not really. Prog house will be the closest bet.

When do we think Block9 lineup is coming? This week?

The general thought is by Friday this week. Emily suggested the final poster by the end of the month and not counting bank holiday, that only leaves Tuesday and Wednesday. So, by the powers of deduction, either today, tomorrow or Friday for Block 9 🤞

Edit: but I suppose it could quite easily be Tuesday, too

Another sub-genre under represented. There's such a saturation of jump-up, and that comes from a DnB fan. Would love to see the likes of Bukem, Calibre, Blu Mar Ten, Peshay, etc, etc, etc added

As Fuzzy said above, trance-wise, not much. Check out Ben Bohmer and Barry Can't Swim for a trance-like sound, but without the energy

One word. Psytrance 🤪

Cheers for the heads up.

Or something like Ben Bohmer, Barry Can't Swim. Big melodic nods to the trance sound of the 00s in there, if a little less intense

Cheers for the reply. Got them both written down.

As well as others have recommended, you tend to get psy trance on the Sunday in the glade area (prob Dome). But there is virtually no Above and Beyond type stuff.

you do get the odd DJ playing the more Anjuna Deep type stuff like this year Ben Bohner and perhaps Dave Seamen but even this has been largely absent from the Glade announcement.

Nice one, thanks for the pointers.

Got the new Daniel Avery EP on now and it's sounding good. Would love a live set - is he just down to DJ so far?

I wouldn’t be surprised if his Lonely Hearts set is live

Sorry to be that guy, team, but I would.

The Silver Hayes posters are pretty specific, indicating the few live sets that there are, whilst clarifying if often live acts are 'just' doing a DJ set. Pretty certain that if DA was live on Lonely Hearts, it would say so. IICON is the last chance for that, I think. And I still wouldn't bet on it. Soz.

Well that was my thinking - they haven’t said Max or Daniel are DJ sets so therefore i’d assume live

Max is down as his typical A/V set (he does DJ as well, of course). Daniel Avery usually DJ's when he plays (though he is a massive producer, obviously...), So I would say that his default listing is DJ, with 'Live' added as the non-typical situation.

Oh i’d missed it saying A/V set after Max first time around, which completely blows my logic out of the water…

    • Absolutely love her record, System. Definitely an album that rewards a bit of commitment.   She's right on my must-see list. Hoping she's in the Walled Garden, as I think her sound might be a bit muddy if she's early-ish in Far Out.   Ben
    • Same here, I kept trying to go on A View From My Seat to see if each block was worth it. So vague!
    • Ok, I’ve had time to process the experience now, so here is my review.   The good Barcelona - what a beautiful place! What lovely people! The city was like another headliner. Stayed in El Poblenou, and the bars, cafes and restaurants were perfect. Avalanches - Absolutely spectacular, euphoric set. Fantastic stage. Possibly enhanced by substances that I timed right, for a change. Added bonus that I don’t really remember the queue. The Cure - I’ve been a fan for 34 years, and never got round to seeing them, so this was a dream come true. The XX - The sound was exceptional. The lights and setlist perfect, giving each member their moment. Was really loud where I was standing (between the front and the sound desk), but i didn’t notice any chatters - even during the quieter moments. Also loved Men I Trust, .bd. , Big Thief, NewDad and Gorillaz. The food within Parc Del Fòrum was also a lot better than I was expecting.   The bad People talking non-stop throughout some of the sets, and shouting to be heard over the music. I had to move 3 times during Wet Leg just to be able to hear the band over the crowd. It’s probably an age thing, but I just don’t understand it. You’ve paid how much to watch these acts, and now you’re standing with your back to the stage, missing the music and ruining the experience for everyone else? Odd behaviour.   The weather apocalypse on Thursday. I genuinely thought I would be able to tough it out. I couldn’t. Left after Geese. The lack of communication from Primavera didn’t help.   Whilst it was lovely to be by the sea, and the sunsets were very pretty, the site is a bit…concrete-y, isn’t it? I kind of longed for some grass and trees. Often found ourselves standing on the steps by the Adidas yard by some bamboo. This was probably a subconscious need for some nature. The fact that some of the nature included cockroaches did not negatively affect the experience.   My daughter, for running away when she saw the drug dogs in the queue on Thursday, meaning that I lost her for the whole evening. She hid her stash under a bench, and it miraculously survived the storms.   Also, can someone explain the point in having a wristband, when you still have to show your ticket every time you enter and leave the site?   Finally, I would like to nominate myself as one of the bad things about this year’s Primabera. I should have done Primavera a lot better. It was my first one, so I’m still learning, but I think I left too early on the Thursday. Left after the Cure on Friday, so I would be full of energy on Saturday, and then barely made it to the end of Gorillaz anyway, meaning I missed Overmono, Skrillex, Skullcrusher, Kneecap, and a few more I would have liked to see.   All in all Amazing lineup. Decent food options. Cupra and Cupra Pulse stages were very impressive. Weather was perfect for 3 out of the 4 days i attended.   It was always likely to be a ‘one and done’ for me, but we had a blast, even if I am starting to get too old for all this.
