Ticket Query

Has anybody done this.

I've got two active registrations, I was thinking of going for the coach package with one and then going for the standalone ticket with the other regsitration then if I were to get both tickets I'd just get the refund on the coach package in April as the standalone ticket would be preferable.

Is this risky? Will it flag up that the same person at the same adress has two tickets.

Theoretically speaking I could have a twin brother of the exact same name, there are no laws against that.

"As part of Glastonbury Festival’s commitment to eradicate the touting of tickets, the Festival permits the purchase of a maximum of one ticket per person. Any duplicate orders will be cancelled. In the instance of a duplicate order being cancelled, the purchaser will be refunded less the applicable administration fee."

There would seem to be no point in doing it as the duplicated order (the second single ticket) would be cancelled with a fee, you could try arguing you have a twin brother with the same name but no one in their right mind would believe that. Just do the decent thing and either buy the coach ticket and accept that or take your chance with the rest of us in the general sale.

Fair enough, second question then. How much beer can you get on the coach?

I can't be arsed to confirm it in a third thread. :-)

Yep. There's been a real spate of threads with this ingenious and cunning plan that nobody could possibly have thought of before.

This is covered by the festival's T&Cs, and will result in cancelled tickets.

Just nervous is all, first year I was chilled buying tickets, last year a bit more stressed, this year I'm feeling stressed well in advance of tickets going on sale.

Plenty of people take a trolley loaded with both beer and a rucksack. Some take a rucksack plus a trolley load of beer. How much you'll be allowed on the coach with mostly depends on how much room is left in the hold, but if it's all on one trolley you should be fine.

On our coach this year it ended up being first come first served in regards to luggage/alcohol (very annoying). I took spirits anyway so that fit in my bag easily and then when I realised I wanted beer too we got the bus into town to stock up which really wasn't that bad at all.

Oh well then craic on. Sure everyone else is just bright and breezy about getting tickets and not at all bothered.

Unfortunately I have run out of likes. I also think that one should take the gamble on this one by going for one of the options and not both at the same time. If you were going for coach tickets and you don't get them then you get another chance anyway, by trying again on the Sunday.

Edit - I'm not entirely sure I've made myself clear there.

I admire your honesty. I think everyone knows where you are coming from. My post above failed to express that everybody has their own boundaries of what they do to get a ticket. My post above also failed to acknowledge the raging hypocrisy in my view point. The thing is, I reckon you play ball through T Day, through the secret sales whilst frantically filling out competitions to win tickets first. Only after that do I think one should think about bending the rules in order to gain entry.

I'd up vote this one too if I had any votes left. An exceptionally well executed back handed volley from over the water.

Up votes given by proxy.

It's worth mentioning that space is pretty tight on the coaches and most people do *not* take trollies. Pack spirits, even if you do take a trolly.

No-one had a trolley full of ale on the coach I got last year. Most people had one rucksack plus a tent.

One couple pulled up while we were waiting for the coaches to arrive and unloaded a huge trolley with all their stuff on. This was roundly greeted with guffaws and comments that they were taking the piss. I don't know it they got it on or not as they were on a different coach but if they stopped others getting their stuff on, it wouldn't have been pretty.

Yeah, there was about one trolly, maybe two on my coach and getting all the bags on involved multiple people pushing the bags as hard as they could to get them into the hold.

I agree we always get the coach and s[pace is seriously limited, last year the 6 of us we were last to arrive and there was no room at all in the hold for our stuff. We had to take everything we had on to the coach and sit with the bags on us and stuffed under the seats. Luckily we pack extra light but it was still a very uncomfortable journey and very awkward getting on and off, bumping people as we went.

This happened to a few people on other coaches too and I believe there was talk about luggage limits if some people continue to take the proverbial with the amount they try and bring on a coach. If you really must bring loads of stuff, coaches ain't for you.

Its pure luck mate, I got 24 cans in the hold and alot of spirts in a bag I took as hand luggage!

There seemed enough room for everyones kit.

You were lucky we were far from the only people who had nowhere to put our stuff. We literally had to bring everything on board, tents, sleeping bags, rucksacks you name it.

I emailed Glastonbury about this last year because I was getting pissed off with the amount of people trying to beat what is supposed to be an honest and fair ticket system (as much as it can be).

They confirmed that they would cancel both tickets if anyone did this. So straight from the keyboards of the Glastonbury Office. You'd be a fool to do it!
