Rock Werchter 2015

I agree with Gossard.. If the Foos cancel, I can't see whoelse could give an awesome show.. Maybe Blur.. No chances for Springsteen, Pearl Jam, Prince.. A good band would replace but not a headliner. I think that Elbow could be moved to main stage and Frank Turner or Triggerfinger added.

Let's pray for the Foo Fighters.

The Foos won't play at Pinkpop, I think we won't see them.. Triggerfinger and Pharell are probably replacing him, so we could expect Triggerfinger too. The timetable could change too.

The Foos seem to be OK for their show in Switzerland (16th Juni) so they are provisorily still playing :D

They have cancelled that show. The false info in this thread on this matter is a little annoying now

got the link to buy tickets off the waiting list, and is allowing me to buy up to 6..

Do you have to buy them all at once? Me and a friend really want to go an we bought tickets off ticketswap.be. We are shitting ourselves a bit as we are travelling from the UK on tickets which could be duplicates. Any chance of any from your lot of waiting list tix?

Upfront, the seller seems like a really honest guy. I have him as friends on Facebook and ye has loads of family on there and stuff. I am just nervous about it. We could sell them on again if we get more reliable tickets. Signed up for the waiting list too late so no chance of that!

Ask him to reset his password at ticketmaster.be and give the account to you. After RW you'll give it back to him. I did this last year, bought a ticket of a guy and took over his ticketmaster.be account until after the festival.

Will he not have his debit card details attached to this though?

What will that achieve for me?

Sorry, I think this only works with proximusgoformusic not ticketmaster. I got the guys proximusgoformusic account last year.....

There you can download a new ticket as only the latest downloaded version is valid.

Ah right, Ticketmaster is awful. That system would be so much better! Any other advice to guarantee a bit more security?

For those of you who have been to Werchter before....

What is the atmosphere in the campsites usually like? I am expecting something a bit quieter than Leeds last year (slept right next to the Red camp DJ tent which went on to around 7am on the last night playing an encore to what must have been about 2 people.) Hopefully it will be exciting though.

What are the stalls outside the festival arena usually like? Is there anywhere where you can get a decent value meal and beer or is it festival prices throughout.

Are drugs commonplace in Werchter? Last year at Leeds we had drug dealers doing their daily round across our camp and none of the marshalls seemed to bat an eyelid. I was wondering whether it was similar at Werchter

Does entertainment go on beyond the headline acts or does it tend to shut down after the live music finishes?

Cheers to anybody who bothers to address these questions in advance! :bye:

Does it worry anyone that Foos are playing UK shows before RW, then heading straight back to the UK for Glasto? I'm starting to wonder with Dave's leg if they'll decide it's not worth travelling back and forth and pull out.

RW moved by a week because of the foos,

I would reckon RW won't be too happy if the foo's cancel and do the UK gigs. and I can't imagine  them doing that since RW took a huge risk on them.

This + for a rock band being known for its likeable image, it would be an incredibly dickish move to cancel the festival that booked you in September yet play the one that didn't contact you until Winter.

It is a lot less rowdy than Leeds but that said, find the right people/neighbours and you won't have any complaints. Most people there speak English which helps too.

Entertainment at The Hive lasts until 3/4am each night for those with XL camping tickets and there a few things happening outside of the arena once the last act has finished.

Places outside the arena are cheaper than inside and there are quite a few beer tents where you can sit along the main road and have a cold pint. Food is pretty varied too and is around the usual festival prices, although still cheaper than using coupons in the arena.

Drugs wise I'm not sure - In all my time I have never seen anyone roaming around openly offering it like I do at Leeds. On the other hand, I noticed A LOT of people smoke of weed in the campsites. Maybe because there are a lot of Dutch people there making themselves at home :P Also, on this note the festival policy says it is 'stricly forbidden to DEAL drugs'... not take them haha.

Hope that kind of helps from my limited experience at Werchter :)

Can anyone explain the "Diablo" fee to me? i ordered my free train ticket from the Airport - Leuven 24th & Leuven - Airport 29th. Do i need to pay this fee for both journeys or just 1? can i just pay at a machine at the Airport train station or do i have to buy online? How much is it? is there a way around having to pay it?

If you want I have still got a combi ticket for 225 euros, I can give you this in person on the wednesday or thursday at rock werchter so there are no worries for duplicate tickets. My friend is not going so I have to try and sale the ticket

I hope this is not a stupid question but if we have XL-tickets I assume it is not a problem to get into the Hive early thursday morning? We expect to arrive around maybe 5-6 in the morning.

We are driving there (from Denmark) and have to go to zone A parking, next to the Hive. How do we get there without too much hassle? I don't think the directions on RW's website are very helpful.

Arriving Thursday morning is not a problem. RW have already said it will not fill up by that time.

Once you're close to Werchter there are plenty of signs as pretty much the whole town shuts down for the festival. I'd just use a Sat Nav or your phone to get to Werchter, it's easy to find :)

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
