Pink Floyd.....new album 2014

Ok so David Gilmours wife Polly Samson has today tweeted that there will be a new, yes new, Pink Floyd album released this October.

The album will be titled The Endless River and will be based on material produced during sessions in 1994....which would put it around Division Bell era....and is being regarded as the late Rick Wright's swansong.

Now seeing that there were rumours that Rick had wanted to play Glastonbury before his untimely passing......

Those albums just didn't do it for me. Sounded like someone trying really hard to sound like Pink Floyd.

Roger probably won't be in on it but I can hope.. Dave and Roger seem to be on good terms now so won't fully rule It out.

Didn't the festival refuse Wright's 'final wish' to perform at Glastonbury in 2008? I'm pretty sure I read that it was because it was too late to shift the line-up around, rather than anything malicious, but even so, do Gilmour & Mason (and Waters) still want to play, now that Wright can't be part of it?

Edit... Personally, I'd love them to play; Time is the song more than any that I'd love to hear at dark on the Pyramid.

My guess would be that if the recordings are being regarded as Wright's swansong then where better to play them than the one place he never got to go....

Agreed with respect to Roger...he's got his own projects to focus on.

MLOR wasn't all bad though....Dogs of War is a great track...and On the Turning Away has a Gilmour solo possibly only bettered by Comfortably Numb.

Otherwise it's pants.
