Bramble fm

Utter genius. I think they had a year or two off, but so glad they were back as mad as ever. I spent an hour or so on two afternoons watching them. Hammer time, the Bramble FM hole, the "guess the number" competition - all brilliant, and all scarily like local radio stations I have heard.

I thought they were great. Saw them last year getting the field to do van halens jump. Returned this year, and they did a few sketches. Best being "liver dance" ( a take on river dance). Started with Irish dancing with can of cider in hand. Then the collapse, then a liver op, before getting back up with cider for finale.

Also some cracking one liners. "For the listeners at home.. We have a huge crowd here, yes a huge crowd... The field us actually full, and we are now operating a one in one out system"

Never heard of them. Can someone explain please?

Imagine the worst local radio show you have heard. Double it. Add lots of props, a hole in the ground, the humiliation of audience members, and two presenters who seem to take their clothes off for any reason.

Do yourself a favour - set aside an hour one afternoon, and go and find them in the Theatre & Circus fields.

    • Another one from Sheffield DocFest this weekend, Earth Wind & Fire docu, directed by Questlove. Sensational archive footage, contributions from band members, family, plus a lot of very big fans (Stevie, Lionel, Flea, the Obamas) and a warts n all assessment of the genius / flawed human being that was Maurice White. Also, I never realised he started out as a jazz drummer with Ramsay Lewis. Well worth a watch.
